Hey all,

I'm getting a dog. Most likely will be a purebred Siberian Husky. I've been thinking of names, I know that I want it to be Cowboys-motivated. I've been thinking Aikman. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I have always liked names that end in 'er'. Don't ask why.

Trooper, Barker

But they say try to find a name that ends in a sharp consonant sound so he can pick it up easy and know you are calling his name.

Mac, Blackjack

Plus, remember you will be calling this name out loud in your neighborhood, .. LOL

I had a cat back in the day named Herschel - one of the best pets I ever had!

Bates!

Also, you sure ya want a male? They like to mark their territory while females are easier to be housebroken. Females will also be less dependent and needy. Both have their pluses and minuses.

I had a German Shepard I named Emmitt, got him in 1991, best dog I ever had.......

I don't know if I ever want a dog again just for the simple fact that it sucks so bad whenever they die.

Dogs are cool though.

You are right, .. it is absolutely the worst when you lose a dog. But I just have to have a dog in my day to day life.
So a few months after I lose one, I start looking again.

You can never replace them, .. but it sure helps ease the pain to get a new puppy.

I have had two dogs lived 13 and 14 years, .. and lost one at 3.

My current guy will be 4 in April.

Aesome that you are looking to get a huskie.. I really want a pomsky... Its a Pomeranian and husky mix... Just bc a husky is too big for me..
