The long Winter of my discontent is finally over

The only negative was the amount of years. But, I will take one year of Hardy over the alternative. I just hope it doesn't come down to either Dez or Greg next season by not being able to afford both :(

The franchise tag is destined to be put on Dez after this season as well, so if all goes well with Hardy this year, he's going to get the phat money.

I agree with the OP and the post AsthmaField made, this is the one move the team could make that would be a game changer. The entire defense is different with a dominant DE applying pressure and its a rare occurance to be able to add a talent like Hardy in FA. And its likely we will finish the offseason without restructuring Romo, which is huge in terms of the long term risk faced by the franchise.

We need to draft a CB, RB and another DE who can rush the passer but we can do that with our top three draft picks.

Losing Murray after a lot of back to forth, to the Eagles of all teams, was pretty bad

The beginning of FA was hard to watch with all that talent, overpaid or not, going to other teams

The pursuit of Hardy looked like another roller coaster ride that would end badly

I'm glad we got it done, even for only a year

SJones is a pimp

The salary cap is supposed to increase next year, so much so that we can probably afford him...

If Hardy can help the Cowboys win the Super Bowl this year we can afford him for sure.

Same here, wish the terms could been longer. But at least he is s here, which means we have a good chance to keep him here longer.
Still need to get RoMac signed, then a good draft, CB, DL, RB, RT depth, S, LB can all be drafted if for anything depth and future starters.

Need to get Carr and his contract situated also. Which may mean CB in 1st round if he is a June 1st cut.

From a football perspective, it was definitely a huge get. I don't know about game changer, I think a lot of people are just happy to sign a productive player with a big name.

A game changer on this line anyway. He's instantly the best player by a mile.

You can do the dirty and franchise Dez again next year. I really hope he gets extended soon though.

I am by no means a cap expert, but from what I can tell, if he pans out here and meets most or all of his incentives, almost all of his salary is deferred into next year's cap. If this is true, how realistic is it for the Cowboys being able to resign him? His cap hit next year would be pretty high if the Cowboys resign him.

Everyone's favorite Mediot on this board, Mike Florio just said on the Dan Patrick show that GH will only get suspended for two games... That would be nice
