The Cowboys shouldn't invest any more money and resources into "helping" a player who has no long term future on this team. He'll be released as soon as the cap hit is feasible.

I'm inclined to agree about him being released as soon as the cap hit is feasible. We're not getting nearly enough back from him in terms of our investment in him, it's just too bad that our hands are tied due to the potential cap hit that it would currently cost us.

Roy also needs to fix people blaming him for coverage gaffes when somebody like Reeves or Ellis or Ayodele is in coverage.

After this past season I'm more worried about Roy in run defense, tackling, and blitzing. He was far less effective in those areas than he has been in the past and that hurt Dallas more than anything this past season on defense.

He looked a bit confused in Wade's scheme this year and just not aggressive. I don't think he's a bad safety by an means. But last year he was just average, which is fine, but not when you're paying him a top safety salary. So if he doesn't improve in 2008, Dallas should seriously look at the possibility of cutting him because he would be playing far below his contract and it obvious that his career is on the decline.

The fact is, even Jerry Jones made comments about Roy's plays, and Dave Campo also said that he can improve his game. Roy is definitely on the radar as far as it concerns upper management.

Anybody who thinks that Roy's play hasn't deteriorated in his play has, at least from my perspective, too much emotional sentiment invested in him.

He has to step up his game this year otherwise he may be out the door...
