Ghostbusters: A waste of time and money

worry about Race and Hail Caesar, those are better movies to watch this february. as well as that ski jumping movie starring Hugh Jackman
more like worry about the Rio games. I saw the trailer to the ghostbusters, its a remake and terrible. I'll rather watch a handball event watch a Boring remake of a 80s classic

I don't care what the pundits say, I am gonna see it.........even if I wait until it is on cable

Just to see it for Aykroyd & Murray who have cameo's. Also Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts & Sigourney Weaver appear in the film.

avoid the movie, why i say that? cause Ghostbusters is just another remake movie. and its rated TBA, you wouldnt take your kids to a rated TBA movie. also the dialogue from Ghostbusters is ....... terrible.

I get the joke ....... I am shocked no one else does.

God I hate remakes... I'm down with prequels and sequels but remakes... most of them are just mindless.

"Planet of the Apes"
"Halloween"
"Friday the 13th"
"Texas Chainsaw"
"Evil Dead"
"Dawn of the Dead"
"Poltergeist"

Of that list Texas Chainsaw was the most entertaining.

There was a "Night of the Living Dead" remake done in 1990 that was pretty good.

I liked the one Texas Chainsaw remake with R. Lee Ermey, the drill sgt. from Full Metal Jacket bc he played it with such authenticity and similarity. But agree with most of the rest definitely.

Yep, that was the only one on the list that I thought was close to the original. None of the others came close. Some were more entertaining than others, but they weren't as good as the original.

I know everything leading up to the trailer talked about it being a remake but the beginning of the trailer makes it sound more like a sequel.

That bit's confusing isn't it?

It seems like a sequel at first but then the trailer operates like a remake.

Doesn't look good.

These women are too talented for this not to be funny, IMO. So it might just be a bad trailer,

The switch to the all female lead doesn't bother me one bit, but my biggest fear is that this is a shot for shot remake rather than a somewhat original reboot.

An all female cast is as bad as making Rhonda Rousey "Dalton" in the Roadhouse remake.

Disagree.

Rhonda Rousey as Dalton is terrible because Rhonda can't act worth a damn and roadhouse's premise probably doesn't make sense as anything but a comedy in 2016.

The cast for this movie is pretty great,

Movies unnessesarrily pushing a gender or racial agenda always tend to be terrible. Will not watch, probably won't catch it until its free and I have other things to do so I can say I saw it.

It's funny how the director tried to pander to the PC crowd and still ended up offending them with the "Token black woman"

You can't please that crowd. Joss Whedon also learned his lesson after Avengers 2 when he got bullied off Twitter by the same crowd.

Drop the PC talk

Per the rules...

#7 - You will not post political discussions or comments.

And before anyone tries to act like it is not political talk...PC is short for Political Correctness.

So stop the talk and move on.

No more warnings on it.

fwiw, as someone who was a fan of ghostbusters as well as the four lead characters, I'll be seeing the movie.

As someone else said...probably wait till it comes on Cable.

I don't go to the theater so that rules that out...but I doubt I would rent the movie either.

I wouldn't even bother to pirate it. Looks awful. I don't see what Melissa McCarthy's appeal is. She's not funny at all.
