Giant is a tougher opponent

I believe that Giants pose to be a much tougher opponent than the Eagles.

Eagles have talent but at the end of the day they are one dimentional. It's difficult to win with one dimentional offense. Eagles are almost exclusively a passing team this yr. If you get a good passrush on McNabb, their offense will sputter.

Giants on the other hand is very balanced. Tiki has always been a thorn on our side and Eli is growing up fast. When the team can run and use pass action, defense play on it's heals. They will prove to be a better opponent than Eagles.

To Win next week, we must contain Tiki and Pettiti must be able to keep Strahan in check. Note to Pettiti....Strahan is not Kease...he is a real man.

I am sick of the Giants hype and the Eagles are twice the team the Giants are. The Giants have played one talented opponent and got stomped. They have the 2nd worse defense in the league. This will be their second road game the first was not pretty.

No one is trying to hype the Giants. It's just simple facts that Giants are not a one dimentional team that allow us to concentrate on passrush. Tiki will hurt us if we don't contain him.
Parity is the constant. You never know what will happen next week regardless of the opponent. This team is showing something but it needs to sustain that. I hope we can use this win to propel us to the next level.

Sorry for jumping on the post your point is very good. I am just frustrated at the amount of respect people are giving to teams who have not played anyone.

The giants have had the wins come against weak opponents but they have won big in those games.

We have to show we can stop the run, another showing like the raider game and any decent team could hurt us with play action.

I do like some of the matchups, I'll take Henry against Buress. I wonder if Toomer will mouthoff to Roy again this year and get leveled for his efforts :D

On offense, we'll need to continue to help out Pettiti but I'm glad he's got a few games under his belt now before he had to face Strahan. Its hard to tell what the shape of the rush defense is becuase their wins were against the saints, rams and cards, poor rushing teams and then Tomlinson crushed them in the losss. Their corners have played poorly this season and giving Bledsoe some freedom again could be the right approach to take.

You are aware that we have a pretty fair offense our own self, and the Giants have some problems with their defense, aren't you?? I mean, they're next to last in the league going into this weekend, allowing over 425 yards per game...

Here are some comparative numbers:

Total Defense: Dallas, 298 yards per game... Noo Yawk, 425.2 yards per game...

Total Offense: Dallas, 370.6 yards per game... Noo Yawk, 353 yards per game...

Our defense is MUCH better than theirs, our offense is even a little better...

Consider also that the Iggles were FIRST in the league in total offense going into this game, at 432 yards per game, and we held them to 139 yards... if we can handle that offense, I like our chances of handling a team that averages 80 yards per game less...

Now, I'm not saying that we're gonna do to the Giants what we did to the Iggles, but I am saying that there's no reason to assume that the Giants will come into Texas Stadium and dominate offensively... and even if they do, the Boys might just outscore them anyway, because I have every expectation that they'll move the ball efficiently in that game...

Bet ya the Boys are at least 3 point favorites in that game, and I wouldn't be surprised if the spread was 6...

Philadelphia certainly scared me more than New York -- their history against us, talent level and overall domination of the NFC the last few years. With that said, that game is over and now I am most certainly concerned about the Giants.

I just want to see us as aggressive as we were today. The play calling can and should be different, but I hope we don't revert back to the sort of game plan we called against Oakland. This team has the talent to be aggressive. We should use it.

I am glad the Giants saw us being very aggressive throwing the ball. This will prevent them for crowding the line.

The bottom line of all our games is winning the LOS! That's it folks....It needs to be done on both sides of the ball. It's simple but that's the bottom line. That's why we spend over $15 Million in signing bonus and several first rounders to shore up our lines.

Oh please.

The Eagles are by far one of the best teams in the NFL. They have proven to be explosive on all cylinders for 4 years straight.

How can you compare them to the Giants?

With that said............I believe the Giants Cowboys game will be much more exciting and nail biting.

But the Giants are still not the Eagles lets just get that straight.

A little concerned about Eli and Burress, but the Giants D is not real strong and they'll be missing their top CB, Will Peterson. Nice news for the aerial attack. Hopefully JJ is healed and can pick up where he left off vs Philly. They've also beat Arizona, New Orleans, and St. Louis - not exactly strong defenses.

Should be a high scoring, full out war. Kinda strange in a Cowboys vs Giants game.

Giants are interesting matchup.

Dallas had them last season and choked.

Manning has had two solid games out of four, both of those vs. defenses that are not playing as well as Dallas'.

But....the Giants have Tiki Barber, and he has proven to be a Cowboy killer.

We stop Barber, we win.

Owens is a big physical WR. He's also faster than Burres. I think that we can definately contain him, however, Toomer is a better #2 than the rest of the Philly guys. Barber is better than Westbrook, at least as a pure runner.

Pettiti will get a great test this week. Kearse is alot quicker than Strahan. I was surprised as to how well Pettiti handled the outside burst of Kearse. Strahan will employ alot more bull rush tactics. Pettiti better be ready. I think he will be. He's gotta be full of confidence.

Philly has a far better secondary, so we can definately can exploit NYG. I hope JJ is not banged up too hard. Thompson was good, but he's not too great as an every down back, he simply gets tackled in theopen field too easily

We killed the Eagles but we barely beat the 49ers. Just because we beat the Eagles this week doesn't mean we won't play the the Giants like we did 2 weeks ago.

I think it's going to be a good game. Tikki has killed us past few years. We need to contain him from getting big plays. I think that's going to be the key.

The Giants D is a big concern, even among their own fans. They've played some of the worst teams in the league so far, and all of them at home. Their one road game was in SD and we all saw how that went. Eli is growing into a nice QB, but he's still got some work to do. If we play half as well as we did today we will simply blow the Giants out. When you build your record on beating teams with a combined 5 - 10 record, and you've faced them all at home, you're building a house of cards. It's about to come crumbling down unless we REALLY screw up.

The Giants are a good overall team, but their pass D is terrible. Bledsoe WILL rip them apart.

Since 1990, the year the bye week was first implemented, they are 3-13 following the bye week

BUT, they have won the game following a bye, every 5 years.
