Giants CB Sam Madison (strained abdomen) is unlikely to play against the Cowboys this weekend.
The Giants secondary remains banged up. Madison did some individual work Thursday but was unable to practice while nickelback Kevin Dockery was on crutches after suffering a setback against Tampa Bay. The Giants will likely start rookie Aaron Ross and Corey Webster at the corners with R.W. McQuarters as the nickelback.

Banged-up secondary... let's attack them down-field early and often to force the safeties deep. I don't want to see a repeat of last year, when the Seahawks were signing guys off the street and we still had a conservative game-plan offensively.

In other news, Giants fans everywhere are celebrating, for they now have an excuse to fall back on after the 'Boys spank that ***. :starspin

Never believe this stuff till its offficial.

Go after Webster. Ross has been doing ok.

Webster had a pretty good game covering Joey Galloway last week, but then again Galloway was kind of banged up. These guys really haven't proven much and I don't see any reason why we can't attack both.

Galloway seemed hurt. His speed wasn't there.

True. It was commented on during the game and pretty easy to see that Galloway was not running with his normal speed not even close to it.

No special game-planning please. Just go out and offensively execute our normal game plan. If the replacements are truly inferior to the starters, then that will naturally be evident in our success. But, just don't allow the defense to dictate by allowing them to know how we might adjust.

I thought Ross played pretty well when the Giants lost to the Cowboys at home, but he did give up one big play too. Madison was burned several times, so the Giants could be a little better starting Ross at corner instead of Madison.

But overall, I know the Cowboys can do it. We need to stretch the field by alternating deep throws to Glenn and Austin (who'd better catch it this time, or draw the penalty!). Besides the extreme deep ball, prove that they can't cover Owens man to man, because they'll probably try it more often because of his injury. And I would love to see the O-line just beat up the Giants front 7, and have them worn down by the start of the 3rd quarter, so Barber can run free on them, as well as Jones who is motivated by his imminent departure from the Cowboys.

All of this team needs the experience of a successful playoff game, practically none of them have had one. It's time, they're hungry, and it will be good to watch!

Well, if their secondary is banged up, with those 2 guys out, then I think we do need to gameplan it a little bit, if only to test it.

I think the Cowboys run better with the field spread a bit. I think Witten gets more opportunities if the field is spread a bit. This plays well into the Cowboys' early season success with the pass setting up the run.

We haven't run well all year with max protect, facing 8 men in the box.

So, if we put TO, Glenn, Crayton, and Witten out and 1 RB I think we are more likely to have running lanes as well as give the Giants fits in figuring out how to defense all those receiver options.

It's an opportunity to exploit, and I think the Cowboys should do it. I'm still sick about the Seattle game last year where Parcells TOTALLY BLEW the game plan in that one. As much as I love the Tuna, I'm still baffled by that one. Need to play to your strengths and exploit weaknesses.

Like someone else posted though, EXECUTION remains the key. Oline needs to protect like last 2 Gmen games. Less penalties. Romo needs to play smart deep in our end and their redzone. Turnovers will be twice as important in playoffs.

On D, I saw some of the 2 Gmen game replays. Roy was picked on all day. The Gmen put a huge chunk of their game planning on exploiting Roy and it worked for the most part. They made many 1st downs that way.

The Cowboys do not need a special game plan to attack the Giants. They need to get the ball into the hands of their playmakers on offense and play solid defense.

And if you think about it, we always attack the Giants secondary. We have put up 76 Points on this, which is probably the highest combination of any of the NFC East opponents.

It isn't like Madison and Dockery are great CBs but their absence will hurt the rotation, if they are out that is.

I saw Galloway get open on a couple of plays and Garcia just could not get the ball to him. On that one play that Webster(I think it was him) intercepted in the endzone, Garcia under threw the ball.

I don't think the game plan will change if Madison goes or not. Dallas attacked the Giants down field in both games this season. There is no reason for that to change. It just may be more effective if Madison and Dockery don't see the field.

I agree, we don't need to do anything special. Just go out there and run our gameplan. Tampa has nothing once you shut down Galloway. We have many more weapons after Owens.

I hope Wade and Garrett DO prepare for Madison-it's one of those injuries where you can get a cortizone shot, and VOILA.

Inexperience and limited troops SHOULD mean crossing routes, crossing routes, and more crossing routes to see if they can cover in space and adjust to recievers crossing through each others routes.

If you aren't crossing you should be doing double moves and gos.

Before we laugh too much, Seattle had a beat up secondary last year too and we did squat on it. We need to execute Sunday....

I'd say our offensive philosophy has changed a bit since then, no?

Bingo. I think most of us fault the game plan for that Seattle game, but we still had a chance to win it either way.
