- With Harrison and Hankins in the middle thats a very nimble 700 pounds. Its going to be very tough sledding in the running. I can easily see the Giants in the top 5 in rushing defense this years

-Conversely, I saw little pressure from those two in the passing game and it seems they will rely wholy on edge rush this year. I think this could really hurt there overall pass defense. However Hankins has been known to be able to get to the QB before (7 sacks in 2014) so this bears watching.

- CB looks to be a strong unit for them. However both DRC and Jenkins are guys that can get abused on any given game. Apple seems to be there #3 and he is a also someone that could be exploited. This could be a unit that has one great game and then one bad one. Given that the seem to be relying mostly on edge pressure, vet QBs could beat these these like a drum. Fortunately for them the QBs in division play are either rookies or middling. I dont think Prescott, Wentz or Cousins can really exploit them.

- The LBs and safeties look very weak in coverage. Collins is a box safety and looked lost yesterday in coverage. Thompson looked very good, but he is also a rookie. I think these are the matchups Dallas and Philly will be looking at with there rookies. Cousins will probably challenge there CB's more, but I dont think they have the WR's to really exploit that.

Cowboys are set up to be "Pick your poison" but the Giants were able to shut down both Dez and Zeke. I was impressed with them.

I think they have a shot to get edge pressure pretty consistently, Vernon is a beast in the last 2 games he has actually made Smith look average. By the end of the year JPP might have the best numbers by a LDE if he stays healthy exploiting RT's.

DRC, Jenkins & Apple looks like a pretty good secondary to me.

I agree they could be top 5 by the end of the year.

We need a #98 Harrison..

IMO he was the best player on the field yesterday and won them the game.

The DL is set up to be able to stop the run. The middle is going to be a no mans land with Hankins and Harrison.

I agree with most of OP's post.

To sum it up, more people are focusing on our short comings and not acknowledging that the Giants D has made a huge improvement. That's probably a top 5 D line right there and one of the best defenses we'll play all season. I expect to have much more success next week and against other teams.

Look between the tackles they are solid against the run. We tried very few TRUE pitch/toss plays yesterday. Our game plan is very vanilla, it's more of best man wins mentality- which just doesn't work. I have NO IDEA why we don't move Dez, EE, Brice, Lucky & TWill all over creating mismatches on routes or why Witten must be on the field every down nowadays.
It's caveman mentality on O

Make no mistake.. If Romo is healthy we score more than 19.

I too feel like the Giants are a better team RIGHT NOW..

I feel like we'll eventually be better but as of today they are better. Win or lose yesterday I would still have felt like they were currently better.

The Giants will get fat and happy though.. It's kind of what they do. They ALWAYS bring it against Dallas and then they don't bring that kind of energy to the rest of their games.

I was only talking about the highlighted part where he seems to put down the Commanders WRs.

The highlighted part of your post. The Skins have very good WRs.
Sorry didnt see the highlighted portion
I see why you say that but I disagree. Jackson hasnt done much for them and may be on his last leg. Garcon really is a pure #2. Doctson has the talent to be a true #1and take over games but he is also a rookie and challenging oppertunistic CB's like DRC and Jenkins with him could cause TO's. Reed to me is there biggest weapon againt NY's defense, and he could beat them like a drum. I think TE's are going to give them ALOT of problems this year

A healthy Romo is the type of QB that can abuse guys like DRC and Jenkins. I think when they face top QB's they will struggle to defend the pass

I think Jordan Reed could have a big day against us.

We play those Zones and there is space behind the linebackers.

Marinelli has had a 6'5 monster in Urlacher and Derrick Brooks in the past clogging up the middle of the field. We have Hitchens who has been kind of a disappointment since his rookie year. Rolando McClain was pretty good when he was here. We will miss him.

IMO, we need a better middle linebacker.

1 cause for hope and optimism is that Gregory and Lawrence could come back and do something. I know it's a stretch with Gregory but at least it's something.

The JAck Crawfords and Kyle Wilbers of the world at DE will just not cut it.

I just don't like our defense. You can look at the point total and come away happy but the eyeball test tells me that our defense is trash.

a defense barely beats a rookie qb with a rookie RB and all of a sudden they are world beaters? Do i have this right?

I agree but Pierre Paul and Vernon looked great yesterday so they may not have to depend too much on them against great QB's.

We need to quit relying on Doug Free.

I would honestly start preparing Chaz Green... At least play Chaz against guy who are bull rushers.

IMO, we made a mistake years ago not getting Parnell signed long term. He is just physically superior to Free.

Mayowa had a decent game, but IMO he is a #3 or 4 DE in a rotation. Althetic energy rusher. He got pressure some plays. Some plays he got taken out

I though we had alot of time in the pocket. I think a more experienced QB would have gashed them
