We desperately needed a guy like Olivier Vernon on our D. Jerry and the braintrust should have ponied up for someone like him. He was a monster yesterday.

Sorry didnt see the highlighted portion
I see why you say that but I disagree. Jackson hasnt done much for them and may be on his last leg. Garcon really is a pure #2. Doctson has the talent to be a true #1and take over games but he is also a rookie and challenging oppertunistic CB's like DRC and Jenkins with him could cause TO's. Reed to me is there biggest weapon againt NY's defense, and he could beat them like a drum. I think TE's are going to give them ALOT of problems this year

Jackson had 1100 yards two years ago for them. He was injured last year. Garcon isn't an elite WR but he's in the next grouping.

I think you are letting your Skins hate get in the way of analysis. The Skins have WRs that can challenge the Giants and then throw in Reed, they have weapons in the passing game.

a defense barely beats a rookie qb with a rookie RB and all of a sudden they are world beaters? Do i have this right?

Having a rookie RB is no excuse. Rookie RB's produce and is not a weakness at all.

Fair point about the rookie QB though.

The Giants just look like they have a better all around team than us.. In fact I know they do. I'd trade their defense for ours right now.

I do however feel like with Romo and our ability to control the ball that we will end up being better than them at the end of the year because we will cash in TD's with Romo.

Mayowa had a decent game, but IMO he is a #3 or 4 DE in a rotation. Althetic energy rusher. He got pressure some plays. Some plays he got taken out

I agree.. Mayowa wasn't bad.

He's in the small group of guys on defense that I feel were pretty solid yesterday.

I wouldnt say Garcon is in the next grouping. To me he is not a #1. He is a good #2. He had a great year when he had a huge volume of targets.

With Jackson outside of that one year in Philadelphia where he blew up he has always been feast or famine. Giants IMO have the speed at CB to contain him deep

Reed is the one that Washington will probably lean on in that matchup because he is a total mismatch VS the Giants Safeties and LB's

Mayowa had a couple of nice plays, but he was exposed A LOT too.

As said, he's a decent rotation option. Can't quibble with that. But this team needs legit DEs.......... you think you have one in Lawrence. Now you need to find another.

I dont know if he is a starter. We will see how he improves over the next few games. He is still fighting for a starting job with Jack Crawford because they can put Lawrence on either side.

Id like to see Mayowa secure that right side spot, because I think DLaw is a real weapon on the right. With DL there you can force a TE in to block or two TE groupings

To add to Catch's points, I think the Giants pass D will struggle against top QBs. The run D could be top 5, but the defense as a whole may be in the 10-15 range

My question with him is does he improve or is he what he is right now. Right he is basically competing with Jack Crawford because we can put Lawrence on either side

This was definitely a defense that Romo would have exploited. Dak was good but needed his receivers to be open for a good half second before he'd pull the trigger. Needs to learn anticipation
