Giants Defensive Dominance

TonyRomo#9

is barely above average.. i just decided i would compare the giants opponents average pts per game, against what the giants gave up to them..

now this even surprised me, and you can all go look it up if you like.

all of their opponents average points per game added up to 161.7 or 20.2 points per game.

the giants have given up 159 total points. or 19.9

so their opponents average points per game is 20.2 and you held them to 19.9.....

WOW! move over steel curtain!

That doesn't mean anything unless you averaged out their points per game NOT counting what they did vs the Giants.

ofcoarse it does.. 1/8 of the fraction could'nt bring the average down much at all.. and if it did. the giants numbers would be well lower. not 2 points defferent.

Its funny that the giants have just dominated the weak teams in the NFL..

They will get exposed...

Jason Garrett will expose them so bad

Their linebackers cannot cover Witten

The Pass rush of giants has bailed their secondary out now they face a quality offense for the 3rd time this season lets see what they do

Yeah they will get exposed Sunday god i can't wait..

At first i was a lil worried about there pass rush, but i thought of it better

Romo is a real Mobile QB, with great foot work and a strong arm..hes gonna

make things happen even if they bring the blitz packages all day. then we

gonna start seeing them dump off plays to MBIII again, like we did with the

Iggles..

The key player in this game may be Patrick Crayton. The Giants aren't gonna single-cover Terrell. The Giants are gonna try to blanket Witten with LBs. Patrick Crayton can have a big game Sunday.

Same goes for Jones/Barber catching passes out of the backfield. I think it's something we saw (by accident) on Sunday against Philadelphia. Dallas has never really been a great screen passing team, but that was what Barber basically pulled off a couple of times and it let him get the ball with a little room to build up speed and make moves on the guys in the 2ndary.

Just gotta hope things work out our way

Agree the X-Factors are gonna be P-Crayton and jason Witten.. believe me

they are gonna double T.O..I was also supried with them screen dump off

passes last week against the Iggles.. they looked real good, hopefully

we can get some of them plays off this week..Another X-factor in the game is gonna be our OL against there DL.

gave up 80 points in the first two games. They have given up 79 total the last six. Whether that is improvement by the defense or the talent of the competition is yet to be seen. But to be honest, I don't see the Packers scoring 35 again if the Giants play them. I also don't see the Cowboys scoring 45 this week. But we will see about that too.

Statistically heres what I see...

Pass Offense Advantage: Dallas
Theres no way you can argue the giants have a better passing offense. You have been leaving too many yards and points available out there competing against lesser teams. The giants leave an average 17.5 yards passing per game. Dallas takes 58.4 more yards more than the opponent usually allows the only teams who are better in this stat are the Patriots, Packers, and Saints.

Run Offense Advantage: Push
Not to take anything away from your run offense, but you have been taking advantage of bad rushing defenses and running up your stats, literally. You average 137.8 yards rushing per game, which is great... but the two teams you lost to allow an average 89.1 yards rushing per game, much different than the 125.5 YPG rush defenses you have beaten. It doesn't seem like it now, but you will realize by the end of the season you need a solid RB as you have the hardest remaining rush defense schedule (Dallas, Minnesota, Philly, Washington, New England allow from 73-97 YPG)

Pass Defense Advantage: Giants
You have done well defending the pass. Dallas has faced poor offenses and they were still able to perform exceptionally against us. You on the other hand limit your opponents passing yards. Good Job Giants.

Run Defense Advantage: Dallas
We are a proven tough run defense. We have faced powerful running teams and still keep our Run YPG allowed to 84 YPG. You are the opposite, you have faced bad run offenses and allow them to run all over you.

Combining all the figures together: Dallas > Giants
The only chance you have is if we turn the ball over repeatedly in our own redzone. Your pass offense has regressed since the first week and you will have trouble moving the ball on us. I too would be surprised if we score 45 Sunday, but we wont need it.

What scares me about the Nats is that they have FOUR true pass rushers(Wow-even Justin Tuck is getting sacks). And Pierce/Ross et al are pretty good blitzers too.

Look, I would LOVE to beat the snot out of this team, but this is going to be a difficult task.:(

With the defense the Giants will be playing to start the game, we will run the ball very effectively. Then when they dedicate more defenders to the line of scrimmage to stop the run, we'll kill them with Witten, T.O., etc. As long as we don't turn the ball over, we WILL win this game. The Giants simply can't outscore us if we don't turn the ball over. I also think our O line will nulify their pass rush for the most part, especially if we're running the ball effectively, which I think we will.

I think the Giants defense is very good and if Dallas puts a thumping on them that will just tell me how good our offense is.

I think that the only areas of advantage for NY is in there offense (very slight IMO) and special teams coverage. We are horrible in this area. Otherwise, I think we have the advantage everywhere else. Of cousre, that is just my opinion.
