Eli steps up and makes the plays his teams asks him to make. Since week 17 of last season Eli has been nothing but outstanding, with the exception of the Browns game in week 6 this year. He hasn't been throwing for 300 yards per game because the Giants haven't asked him to. He is a fantastic game manager, and a highly clutch player... and don't underestimate his talent. Last I checked, the Giants receiving core doesn't get a heck of a lot of credit, so Eli must be doing something right.

Eli led to his team to a Super Bowl last year, and his team is 11-1 this year. I am not going to call Romo a better quarterback just because he has a higher QB rating. You have to watch Eli play consistently to see that his game goes beyond the stats.

That said, I am not knocking Romo. He's one of the best quarterbacks in the league, for sure.

I like Eli....I don't fear him. I'm one of those that don't really think he played all that great in the playoffs. That was your OL and DL....the DL especially.

I like how we're playing right now. But I fear it's a case of too little...too late.

I do not doubt we can go 4-0 to close the year. I think our team is, without question, the most talented in the NFL. If we play the way we're capable of, then no team scares me.

I think if we make the playoffs....and that's a big IF....then we will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.

how could he be leading when he was following his defense?

Correction: The Giants led Eli to the Super Bowl last year. Mainly their defense. Eli played a part, but it's common knowledge that the NY defense were the leaders of that team. It wasn't Eli who shut down the NFL's top 3 offenses. And consistency has been one of Eli's biggest weaknesses up until this year. He is better this season, but before that, he was average at best.

What would Eli's status be be Tyree didn't make that fantastic catch, and as LUCK had it, the ball did not touch the turf.

if their careers ended today, Romo would not be a legend. But Eli sort of would already simply because of last year's playoffs.

Yes, the Giants D was probably the #1 factor in Giants Super Bowl last year. But Eli was also outstanding, especially in the game's final drive. And he won the MVP. That will always be remembered, whether or not you specifically happen to remember that.
Yeah, kinda like Super Bowl MVP Desmond Howard.

Last year, until the playoffs, Eli was at best a game managing QB. He had a nice playoff run. It was nice. Not legendary, however, as you have claimed.

That being said, Eli has certainly continued where he left off. The question many of us had was whether or not Eli could build off his playoff performance or would he revert back to the old Eli. Looks like he has built off of it. Kudos to him.

Admittedly, I would be curious to see whether or not Eli could go out and "win" games consistently for you. As in.... put up elite passing stats if the team needed it to win games. Fortunately, he doesn't need to with the run game you guys have and the defense you also have. Its not a knock. But I would be curious to see how he'd fare. Romo has to do that because he hasn't really been surrounded by a defense that benefits him like yours does to Eli. And again, that's not a knock. Rather, its just different situations. But our defense is coming around. Maybe Romo will have that luxury soon enough. It'd be nice, that's for sure.

And while your weapons don't get the publicity as ours do... Manning does have good players to throw the ball too. Until recently he had Plaxico, you have Smith, Toomer, and an emerging Hixon. In the past, he has had Shockey. Now, you have Boss. In the past, he has had Tiki, now you have a nice trio led by Jacobs.

Manning has always had good weapons. More than enough to "get it done." He just never really did until the playoffs last year, and then continuning on with this season. That's ok. It takes some QBs longer to develop than others. Looks like Manning has taken that next step.

Yeah the Giants-Cowboys game should be a great one, I'm really looking forward to that. Although the game will certainly mean a lot more for the Cowboys than it will for the Giants (the Giants could have the #1 seed nearly wrapped up by then).

I'm really looking forward to this Cowboys-Steelers game as well.

Back-to-back weeks the Cowboys will be playing in the game of the week, and really the rest of the schedule should be really entertaining for you guys.

i have to give you snaps on your thread.

you sound very sharp.

i agree the giants are playing the best football out there.

it all starts with their o-line.

without a o-line .... a qb or running back is nothing.

the giants are a very well all around coached team.

however...we are about to unleash hell on you and the rest of the league.

remember one thing...we got our jedi back and the whole team is feeding off of that.

if crayton would have caught that damn slant last year we may be having a different convo.

but he didn't. your team deserved the superbowl as far as i'm concerned.

three straight road playoff wins was impressive.

the only thing that helped take some of the sting out was when ya'll rocked tom's ***.

i gotta admit...i liked that a whole lot.

Don't forget about the lucky drop of an int. by Samuel. Samuel makes that catch, and Eli is suddenly a choker instead of a "legend".

Romo is a much better QB than Eli Manning.

Eli is a bumbling ****** who plays on an outstanding fooball team.

The Giants are good and a real test. I love games like that and I hope we do meet in the playoffs. That's a game that will matter in more ways than one.

You're in NY Mick? I didn't know that...

He has more than just a better QB rating. In 3 less games he only trails Eli by 65 yards total passing. He also has 2 more touchdowns on 38 less attempts and played the last 3 games with a broken finger on his throwing hand.

You talk as if your opinions are facts. They aren't.

It has yet to be determined what will happen to Pierce. He may have actually committed more felonies that Burress so we will just have to see.

The Giants have seemed to play fine without Burress but we will see what happens now that defensive coordinators know for sure he will not play and they can concentrate on tweaking their gameplans. Personally, I think it will hurt to some degree. They may be good enough to overcome it but we will just have to see.

Lets be real. Outstanding??? You sure?

Hmmm... so you're telling me that winning in Tampa, in Dallas, in Green Bay, and then against the undefeated Patriots last year to win the Super Bowl as well as the Super Bowl MVP award, all while maintaining a QB rating for the postseason that was just a hair short of 100, and then playing his team to an 11-1 record the next season, including 6 straight wins over teams with winning records in his last 6 games, while maintaining a QB rating over 90 and being a fantastic team leader and in-game manager is not outstanding, then I don't know what is....

That is true. I forgot he won the MVP.

Which I guess.... kind of adds to my point. Again, its not a knock on Eli. He played well enough to win.

But your DL controlled that game. That is what I will remember most. That and the upset over an amazing Patriots team.

Buddy, as a Cowboy fan in Giant country, there's nothing I look forward to like Giant-Cowboy games.

There's going to be all kinds of talk you might think is out there, but you're not going to find Cowboy fans on a Cowboy board laying it down and accepting a losing demeanor.

Our Cowboys are a team that's growing together and there's more to come from them in the coming years. Playoff losses aren't what the goofs at ESPN say they are - some albatross around a teams neck; they're growing pains for a young team learning to work together.

There's no doubt that the Giants are a big task this year and I wouldn't have it any other way. Games like this Sunday's match up against the Steelers and against the Giants when they're good are the very reason I watch and love this game.

Thanks for stopping by to say hey. I'd wish you good luck, but that would be a conflict of interest. ;)

Personally-I never cared for the Giants-never liked them, nor hated them. Was just always indifferent about them.

Now the Eagles-my hatred for them is FAR more than the Skins.

So basically, the rest of the team has nothing to do with NY's success....it's all Eli?

Exactly. That was the first in a string of lucky things... it was then I realized that the Pats werent gonna win... it wasnt breaking their way.

Listen guys.... let me tell you about Giants fans in NY.
  1. They know and some concede that is was luck last year
  2. They dont think they should have beat us last year
  3. They know we have the better players and if we get it together - we can take them out.
  4. They know that if we beat them and knock them off that its gonna be one of those "well the Giants were more lucky than real last year" = and that concerns them.
  5. IF we go to SB... the Giants are history.
HAHA!!
