Exactly. That was the first in a string of lucky things... it was then I realized that the Pats werent gonna win... it wasnt breaking their way.

Yeah...lol.... you made me look to see if it was under my avatar...

Listen guys.... let me tell you about Giants fans in NY.
  1. They know and some concede that is was luck last year
  2. They dont think they should have beat us last year
  3. They know we have the better players and if we get it together - we can take them out.
  4. They know that if we beat them and knock them off that its gonna be one of those "well the Giants were more lucky than real last year" = and that concerns them.
  5. IF we go to SB... the Giants are history.
HAHA!!
Giants have never beaten Tony Romo without help from the officials and bad hands by our receivers.

Just sayin'.

From the '80's mullet/70's porn moustachioed goons with their Z cavarici's (sp?) pants talking **** through the Cowboys winning seasons was priceless, to the cry-baby Simms, to the whiners of today about 'no one rethpex us' crap they pull today, the Giants never disappoint.

If you lived here, you'd have to hate them too.
:laugh2:

I hate the Skins more than any other team.
I hate the Eagles' fans more than any other fans....their behavior when Irvin was motionless on the field was inexcusable.

I'm not really sure about the Giants. I've never liked anything New York. But I never really hated the team. They never seemed to grate me like the others.

Last year, I began to dislike them a little more. Before both regular season games, their players talked more smack than any other team. After both games they talked and whined.....especially Jacobs.

And, even this summer, they did more whining than any recent Super Bowl Champ I can remember. All they did was obsess with us.

It's hard to respect that.

Our players certainly don't seem to like them at all.

Eli is nothing more than a game manager, far from a legend, only idiotic giants homers think he is a legend.

Romo is a play maker and I'd take Romo over Eli any day of the week.

Ellie gets drafted by San Diego 1st round ,Not happy or honored to be picked first in the NFL draft, Dad and he decides that he's too good for San Diego,. Dad says he won't play for them, Ellie pouts:tantrum: and asks Dad to get him traded.

Dad gets the gints to bite.

Ellie ends up in new york.

Mannings believe their bigger than the game.

Legend ,I don't think so:laugh2:, Classless,

I'll never forgive them for that Day.

Eli doesn't have the #'s to even make the Pro Bowl this year.

Only thing he has going for him is his record, which is obviously very good.

Not even close to a legend...

I think you guys misunderstood what I mean by "legend".

I'm not saying he's an instant hall of famer.

I'm saying that no matter what happens to him from here on out, he and the Giants will always be remembered for what happened last year.

Rudy for Notre Dame is also a "legend". He never even played in the NFL.

Of course, I think Eli Manning is one of the best quarterbacks in the game today. But that's not why he will already be a legend some day. If you want a better comparison, think Joe Namath vs. the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III.

I understand that totally.....Thanks for clarifying.

By the same token, you'll see why we view Romo in the same light.

Here's a guy with virtually NO PEDIGREE (unlike Manning), undrafted, yet he comes in from game one and plays at a high level...CONSISTENTLY.

I guess that's why most of us are patient when asked about his "choke" jobs in the playoffs.

Namath was a legend for many reasons. He was a playboy among other reasons. You say Namath people know who it is. You say Manning, people think Peyton. That doesn't say legend.

He's a good QB who is getting better all the time. But he's not a legend yet. Trent Dilfer accomplished exactly what Eli did and even more in 2000. Is he a legend?

I think Eli Manning is one of the top 5 QBs in the league right now, for sure.

Even if you put Peyton Manning, Tony Romo, and Drew Brees above him.

I'd take Eli over Kurt Warner. Warner is great, but his numbers are inflated because the Cardinals allow him to pass 40 times per game and he has unbelievable receivers. He doesn't get rid of the ball fast enough.

There are some good young QBs, but I'm not putting any of them above Manning.

Obviously Tom Brady is better, but he's not playing this year...

I think Eli is as good as Big Ben and Jay Cutler.

I don't see why someone wouldn't say Eli is a top 5 QB right now. He's not the same QB he was at this time last year, not even close...

I am a Dallas Cowboys fan so the Giants are one of my big rivals. The way I feel about all this is it's a game. To me the game is fun to watch and it's fun to listen to the game on the radio.

I wish Plaxico and the Giants the best. Yes the Giants are my rivals, but this is just a game. To me it's fun to have a team like the Giants as a rival. When the Cowboys play the Giants or any other team I want the Cowboys to beat them, but this does not mean that I hate the people who play for other teams. I am very upset about the whole Plaxico thing.

Trent Dilfer didn't defeat the 18-0, "greatest team of all-time" in the Super Bowl.

What Manning did was much more Namath like than Dilfer-like.

No, but he did beat the Giants. So it's no wonder you don't like him as the litmus test.

He went 7-0 to end the 2000 season. Then won 4 straight post season games including the Super Bowl.

Legend? By your earlier criteria, he is. I say he's not.

First off welcome to the forums. Good to have fans of other teams around here as long as they're respectful and you seem to be just that, from the first couple of posts I've read.

Looking forward to the Giants game in a couple of weeks. For now though the focus is on Pittsburgh.

Eli throws for less yards per attempt than Kurt Warner. In fact, almost a whole yard less, per attempt. Hard to make the case that his numbers are inflated beyond Eli's due to more attempts when that is the case.
