New York Giants' CB Dockery out a few weeks

by Mike Garafolo/The Star-Ledger Monday October 27, 2008, 1:00 PM

CB Kevin Dockery is out about two weeks because of a fractured transverse process in his back, according to coach Tom Coughlin. It's a similar injury to what LB Jonathan Goff suffered in the preseason opener. Goff was out about a month, but apparently that's because he had multiple fractures. Coughlin said Dockery has "only one."
This leaves the Giants with the choice of using rookie Terrell Thomas or veteran Sam Madison as their nickel corner. R.W. McQuarters is also an option, but Madison figures to be the more likely option if the Giants go with experience.
LB Bryan Kehl has a toe injury and DT Fred Robbins "has some nicks" and is "sore," Coughlin said. Robbins was complaining about an injury after the game and his teammates seemed to have already known about it. Sounds like something's lingering for the big guy.
Also, LB Gerris Wilkinson (knee) is out for at least another week, Coughlin said.
Game review in a few. Stay tuned.

Giants WLB Gerris Wilkinson (knee) is out for Week 9. Rookie Bryan Kehl will continue to start on the weak side in Week 9 against Dallas. Kehl made four tackles and had an interceptions against Pittsburgh.
