Behind Philly? What has Philly done this offseason to make themselves the favorite?

Went to the NFC Championship game recently. They're not as good, on paper, but then we're possibly not as good on paper at this point either. Until the season starts, and things start to shake down, they're probably a favorite over us right now.

Nothing. Rampage just likes people to see him whine. It's an attention thing.

I didn't see anything he said as whinning, but maybe thats just me.

Ummm...wrong, and wrong. They have nothing at WR minus Plax and I'd take Roy Williams over any of their guys, easily.

Actually the second wrong I guess you're right. They do have the better run game, at this point, than we do. We'll see how losing Ward effects them and how our move to a more run based offense does for us.

Oh and as for Plax getting cut...no big shocker there. I'm only mildly surprised it too them this long to make the move.

Probably means they'll make big pushes for Edwards or Boldin.

No and no. They have no Ward now and if you think Hixson, Steve Smith, Sinorice Moss, and Manningham is better than our receiving corp then you are nuts. Heck the Bears receiving corp is better than that.

I'll taking our receiving corps (including TEs) over the Giants at this stage.

As for running game, I still prefer our RBs; however, the edge that the Giants have is better OL play.

We need to get our OL sorted. Hopefully a healthy Kosier/Holland will help. I still hope we draft an OL or two this month.

according to BSPN and CBSSportsline...

Now their best receiver is Steve Smith. They better get on the horn with AZ or Cleveland because they can't seriously think they can go into the season with what they have right now.

But given Stallworth's issues, and that they have parted ways with Winslow, do they also let Edwards go?

I wouldn't think so.

Giants Offered Plaxico A New Deal Before Grievance Hearing
Posted by Mike Florio on April 3, 2009, 4:06 p.m.

In the wake of the apparently abrupt decision of the Giants to cut receiver Plaxico Burress, a league source tells us that the team offered him a new contract aimed at resolving the pending grievance between player and team before Wednesday’s hearing.

Per the source, Burress declined the offer.

We’re told that, if Burress had accepted the deal, the team likely would have kept him for 2009, despite the current uncertainty regarding his legal status.

The postponement of a March 31 hearing in his criminal prosecution was viewed as a signal that a plea deal is coming. But we’ve heard that Burress is balking at any proposed bargain involving jail time. So unless he works out an agreement and enters jail right now or stands trial as soon as possible, it’s unclear when or if he’d be available to play in 2009.

The better approach at this point might be to attempt to engineer the court proceedings to allow Burress to play football in 2009, and then to stand trial or start a prison term after the season ends.

Even with such an approach, who’d be interested in a guy facing felony charges that could result in a mandatory minimum prison stay of 3.5 years? And even if a team is interested, we doubt that he’ll get anything more than the veteran minimum salary on a one-year deal.

With Plaxi-glass gone the running game will not be as good.

That will depend on what happens in late April.

Hopefully Edwards, he drops more than he catches.

The contrast in Burress and TO is interesting...One has been charged with a felony, guilty of dodging practice and still had his club trying to keep him...The other has never had legal issues, is a helluva a hard worker (Especially in practice) and his club cut him loose.

Plax will be a Commander within 7 seconds of his plea agreement.
I seriously doubt that. I can see him going to Chicago though. They need to give Cutler some weapons.
