If Philly wins, the Boys can clinch the division with a "win" Christmas night.

This is the lessor of the two evils between the Giants and Eagles.

This eliminates the need for the division winner being be named in week 16.

I dont't think that's correct, if dallas drops another game and New York wins out then the Giants claim the division.

Basically Dallas needs to win out and win the division and hope for a Giant victory (literally and figuratively) over the Saints to secure a first round bye.
