He seemed really at a loss for what to do. I can't believe that conservative defensive game plan they had. Can't wait to read all about it in the Washington Post tomorrow.

I am sure he was more upset with his nap being disturbed.

Did he ever shake BP's hand? Somebody did, but it didn't look like Gibbs. If he didn't, what a sore loser.

I hope so. Saunders offense works in divisions with crap defenses. Not gonna fly here.

Their decision not to blitz more was one of the more curious things I've seen.

Oh, and how is that big-money signing, Andre Carter, working out for Washington? Talk about a non-existent "pass rusher." Actually made Flozell look, at times, dominant.

It's good to know that Snyder's money spending is as successful with coaches as it is with players. :)

i thought they blitzed kind of a lot. a lot of the times we had rollouts called which worked and we kept a lot of guys in. I remember the time he got sacked both Barber and Crayton were in. I think our o-line just did a good job.

Yes he sdid. It wasn't a big deal w/ a hug and kiss, but he did do it and BP seemed to be ready to exit the field as well. At least that's what it looked like to me...

They can't blitz with those CB's. Just like Jimmy Johnson can't blitz with those CB's he threw out there last year. Its funny how all DC's start throwing out "wussy schemes" when they have to provide CB's with help over the top.

I disagree. We were helped a lot by the absence of Portis and Springs. We played a good game, but it was not until the 99 yard drive culminating w/ the TD to Glenn that I felt the game would be won by us. People on this (and other boards) constantly dismiss Joe Gibbs and the 'Skins, but let's remember he has more rings than BP. Can you honestly say that before Roy's INT you were confident of a win. If RW doesn't take that ball it may have been a TD and put them on the path to victory. Next time we play the 'Skins, they may be at full strength, so let's just savor this victory w/o all the bragging...

Exactly. Dallas handled their defensive blitzes quite well. But also, Washington has a pretty average secondary (besides Taylor) so they can't afford to blitz more because if they do they'll leave too many god receivers in single coverage, and they can't cover that. They tried doubling TO and the only thing that stopped TO was his broken finger. They tried doubling Glenn and the only thing that stopped Glenn was, well... not the Commanders, that's for sure! If they had blitzed more, we would have scored more points; plain and simple.

but all the same, it's only wk. 2, like the skins will be getting better by getting Portis and Springs back, we'll be getting better w/ all this youth developing further, and the Oline getting more continuity, not to mention Bledsoe and TO gaining more of a rapport w/ each other

Gibbs and Saunders will have plenty to talk about tomorrow.
