Gibbs has done more with less in less time

I think you guys getting rid of Quincy was a mistake, it looked like he was about to catch on. He was improving.

Yea, Quincy's really been tearing up the NFL since we dumped him. What the heck were we thinking? :lmao:

You guys got to the playoffs with him the year before, no?

I agree...they are both great coaches and any team would love to have them.

Drew Bledsoe is a nice stopgap, as is Brunell. Both these teams could be in trouble when they both go.

The only reason the Q is gone is because of himself...

Are you arguing that the play/talent was better 20 years ago?

It's hard to measure in hindsight. Maybe one day we'll look at Portis like we do Riggins and you'll look at Keyshawn or Glenn like you do Irvin now.

This is a pretty complicated question.

Honestly-we saw more blue collar, workmanlike players in the 80's than super stars. Now that's been reversed.(with a few exceptions)

Don't get me wrong-I'm also impressed with some of the talent on the current Boys and Skins team. However-just watching professional sports in the Present Day can be pretty frustrating. For example, you just don't see the kind of enthusiasm in the NBA like you did with those Lakers/Celtics/Pistons teams 20 or so years ago. And MLB constantly needs a baby-sitter now.

Guess we'll see in the future. But nonetheless-best of luck to your team in the playoffs. Everyone's saying the playing field is even in the NFC.

Yes, but it was a lot like the way you guys got in this season.

It was a mirage.........

Funny how a guy like Tice who went 9-7 gets fired having his team in the playoff chase. And also after losing his starting QB and biggest threat on offense Moss. Yet Parcells is a hero at 9-7.

Yeah it's gotta be the boat scandal..........

tice has won sbs..thats why:lmao2:

If your corners were Walt Harris and Ade Jimoh, your opponents receivers would be open, too.

Actually it was Sean Taylor who was being burned all day. Granted, the fumble recovery was a key play, but it didn't totally erase the countless pass plays on which he was victimized.

I agree...not to get all teary eyed and sentimental, but the old days were sweet, and i wish i were older to remember them better. You'd never see Johnny Damon go to the Yankees like he just did. Rivalries meant a lot more. Now players talk a lot, but the almighty dollar walks. Oh well...

I dunno if the playing field is even in the NFC...I don't like our chances against Tampon bay next weekend, with Springs hurt and Rogers out...our secondary is totally depleted. We'll see.

Hey man, if you're in, you're in...

I can't say controlling our destiny and winning 5 straight was a mirage, though.

That's what we said three years ago........

And don't whine to us about injuries.......They probably cost us a division title.

I can understand being upset tonight, but don't lose focus on what is going on. Parcells and Gibbs are not just great coaches they are Hall of Fame coaches. They are both in a rebuilding process and they are building teams that will bring both franchises back to respectability. Dallas has a young talented "D" that will only get better and has the potential to be dominant. Parcells is a few players away from having the team he really wants. Gibbs is also a few players away from having the team he wants. The next 3-5 years are going to be fun to watch. The NFC east will become the strongest division in the NFL over the next 3-5 years. All four teams will have the potential to contend for the playoffs every year.

It is funny how people now put Greg Williams on a pedistal. He was run out of town in Buffalo. No one offered him another head coaching position. If memory serves me right the entire league had a month to hire him before Gibbs did and there were no takers. He will probably stay in Washington as the DC. until Gibbs retires and then take over the HC. position. Snyder can afford to pay him HC. dollars until Gibbs rides off into the sunset. He has the priviledge to mentor under a HOF coach and get paid top dollar in the process.

I believe both owners should be given alot of credit for there recent actions. They both got the best available coaches and empowered them to do there job and simply pay the bills and keep out of there way. Both owners will reap the rewards of there actions. These two teams will battle for the division crown for years to come and they both will have the potential to go deep in the playoffs. The rivalry is back and football is fun again. The glass isn't half filled, that is a double shot of greatness waiting in the wings.
