Just admit you screwed up Gibbs, don't make any excuses, all you are doing is making worse for you. :laugh2:

That isnt his style, he is one excuse after another, always has been.

How many icebergs have to have burgundy paint scraped on them before someone calls captain's error?

I wasan't able to take notes fast enough to do a true transcript, but here's how I heard it:

1) Gibbs blames official for steering him wrong, while thinking to himself (I can't say THAT)

2) Gibbs admits he can't blame the official and falls on his sword

3) Gibbs, upon questioning, admits he tried using the "but HE told me I could call it" argument with the Referee to no avail.

4) Gibbs again falls on his sword, saying he should have known the rule.

5) While pausing to listen to a reporter's question (that I couldn't hear), Gibb's thinks to himself "I'm a head coach and I just admitted twice that I didn't know the rules. Whoops."

6) Gibbs' back-up alarm starts beeping and he blurts out the bit about knowing the rule, but forgetting it in the heat of the moment.

7) Gibbs fields another question while hearing the sound of a toilet flushing in his imagination.

Skins are gonna go after Garrett this off-season...

Al Saunders would get the job before Garrett did... I'm more afraid that the Mad Midget would be able to get Cowher...

Cowher is no idiot, I think he saw what Napoleon did to Marty Shottenheimer, one of his mentors, and will pass on that.

I could see him taking the New York or San Diego job however.

Cowher will only go to Carolina. I think that may be a done deal already.

Gibbs is the king of excuses since returning to coach the skins. I'm not surprised at all he didn't know the rule and then tried to blame someone else. I cringe everytime I hear the word class associated with Gibbs because I feel he is the exact opposite of class. Whether its what he said about Cowboy fans when he first returned, the neverending excuses when he loses, or the constant snubbing of opposing coaches after a loss, he just does not represent class to me.

I'm so glad Gibbs came back.

One of the teams biggest legends has done nothing but humiliate himself.

Whatta loser.

We've had pretty good success on Cowher. Only game we lost to him was the Vinny fumble game in 04.

The funny thing is that 90% of fans know you can't call back to back yet the HC of a pro football team does it anyway.

You hold fans in too high regard. I'd wager that less that 50% knew you couldn't and less than 10% knew what the exact penalty was. Stop by any forum after a team loses. You'll see a thread complaining about face guarding and one questioning why the clock didn't stop when someone went out of bounds with eight minutes left...

A Head Coach should know the rules but one must also take into consideration the change in allowing the sideline to call timeouts. It's not something that coaches have ever experienced before no matter how long their career.

Well, the thing is that this issue has received so much publicity this year because of the rule change. Most fans that pay attention have heard about it this season.

The best thing that can happen for the Skins is for Gibbs to quit. In all honesty, I feel that they need to rebuild their team through the draft and implode the whole thing. Fire all the assistants, let some veterans go and eat their salary and just try and make it through the next few seasons with a young, inexperienced team that will likely get better.

:laugh2: :lmao: good one

Did I understand that Gibbs didn't know anything about the 10 man tribute???

We had that posted on this board about 3 days ago that they mught do that and talked about how Buffalo would respond.

How does a bunch of Dallas fans know about this but not the head coach???

That is down right humiliating.

Did they do that today and what happened on the play if so?

Yes they did and the Bills ran a sweep right for about 15 yards.

There is a video of it at NFL.com

"I asked the official if I could call back-to-back time-outs and felt he said yes" The official even asked me "when do you want to call it?"

see that's where he went wrong. he asked if he could call the time. Of course he could call it, he never asked if it was a penalty..... those sneaky refs.

Let's not dwell on this, but my other team is the 'Skins-- I know. So yeah, you can only imagine my pain knowing that as long as Snyder is the owner, aint a thing changing. Dan's just a Skins fan trying to re-live the past... which, btw, wasn't ever that great. Now if only Darryl Green and Art Monk would come back, then the Skins might just have their perfect storm.
