I think I'd rather draft a S than sign Gibril to a huge deal the more I think about it. He's probably going to want to get paid again and there's alot of teams that could like Gibril.

We just need to get Ware wrapped up..cut/trade Ellis and Henry..reconstructure RW's contract or release, and get the ILB situation taken care of.

this one has to be hitting Jerry's radar hard...give him a 1-year deal similar to Hamlin and promise him riches if he continues to play hard. 2010 uncapped season, BANG sign him to a huge deal.

Make it happen Jerry.

Uh...no. He's not "pretty legit." He's terrible and the Raiders were universally panned for signing him to that deal. Now they saw first hand that he's complete crap.

Complete crap??:laugh2:

He's no hall of famer, but he's no slouch either. He had a terrible defense around him and played acceptional in New York..He had 129 tackles last year with them..he's not crap.

I was looking at the Raiders site and it's transactions, and they have Gibril Wilson released. What is Al thinking?? I don't even want to know what the cap hit is for doing that. They just signed him to a 40 million dollar contract last year.

What do you guys think?? He's pretty legit. I don't know why Al cut him..it can't be for his play. I'm pretty sure I heard he say he wanted to be released, but I can't believe they actually granted his wish.

intriguing FA but I'll pass. We need a ballhawking FS, not another SS. We've already have plenty that can't cover....Hamlin, RW38, Killer Keith, Pat Watkins...

No, he's terrible. He was terrible on the Giants and he was terrible for the Raiders. The Giants let him go because their secondary was crap with him and the Raiders cut him. Seriously, it doesn't get much worse at the safety position.

Keith Davis >>>>>>>>>>>> Gibril Wilson

Okay well he still isn't terrible..he's just servicable..Pat Watkins is terrible.

I agree with you..I don't want him either. I was just wondering what you guys thought? We need to get a ball hawk like Sean Smith at safety.

What would be the cost of picking him off waivers? He's already been paid the signing bonus. Anyone picking his contract up would only owe him his base pay and any roster bonuses.

you just say the funniest things all the time. Gibril Wilson is better than anybody we have at strong safety. I live in NY and saw him play all the time up until last season. he's solid but nothing special. I would rather draft one though like I said he's better than any of our guys at strong safety

But yeah. Gibril isn't good.

If we are looking for an upgrade at Safety, Gibril isn't going to provide it. I agree with you on that.

There's a difference between picking a guy up off the waiver wire where you inherit the current contract and the guy passing through waivers and becoming a free agent. The player doesn't have a say on the matter.

The Oakland Raiders have parted ways with three veteran players, including one of their high-priced free agents from last year at this time.
Gone are safety Gibril Wilson, defensive end Kalimba Edwards, and receiver Ronald Curry.
Wilson signed a six-year, $39 million deal last March. He reportedly was among multiple players who wanted out of Oakland during the 2008 regular season.
Per RaiderBeat.com, Wilson reportedly refused to reduce a $4.5 million roster bonus that he was due to receive in March.

Just got off the Raiders board and they are pretty hot about this. Most don't understand why when he had 129 tackles for them lastyear. He may be to expensive for us though
