Be careful what you wish for.
All 4 of then are solid...not spectacular, but solid....just can't replace all 4 of them in FA and the draft.
How true, old fellow!
I am all for keeping wlcox and church. They kept getting better. The other two keep getting sub-average.

I'm content without a added discussion on missing out on a Super Bowl. What fan doesn't want that final reward for his team.

I believe sportsmanship...still allowed for a fan in the NFL, calls for me to enjoy the actual play, and not only in terms of winning it all. The Cowboys sacrifice a ton, for my benefit...and I appreciate their play on that basis. That standing on it's own benefits and rewards for me as a fan. I'm not going to short change Dallas for being a good team, but not the very best in a given season. I certainly won't be negative - vocal, for the lack of a Lombardi.
Ok.

yeah I watch them go one an d done with a 13 and 3 record and home field throughout haven't won a divisional playoff game since 1995 so there is that
But you thought they'd be 3-13 and spent three months not annoying people by trolling until they lost a game.

Only somemone of your unique abilities could interpret that as an attempt to silence your valuable contributions.

So if our HC sucks....and our offensive coordinator sucks....and our drafting sucks....how did we just turn into one of the top teams in the league?

Learn to give credit where credit is due. You're hating on the article in the OP...but you're even more biased, only in the opposite direction.

i am not biased, i said be fair. Did anything i say was wrong? No, we did 8-8 under Garrett. so thats not unfair to say. Correct?
Did we do 1 and done in the playoffs under Garrett? yes we did.
Did we do good records and get HFA and still go 1 and done under garrett? yes we did.

Anything i post NOT fair?

Want me to give credit for the sake of credit. Ok, since we dont want just some facts and we have to spread it around to appease the rah rah crowd. Because they cant be challenged the other way, lets give credit. We have been drafting better, thats due to Garrett, oh wait, no, its not. Contracts have been iffy but better, thats due to , ooo see what i did there. yes, good things have happened for the organization, not much due to Garrett.

What did Garrett do good? well lets take a look, he beat up some bad teams. We all knew the defense was suspect even if most got sucked into it. It happens, we all want the team to do well. The good news is with a new core coming in, we can totally waste some years on them, so that will be awesome. Instead of bringing in a new guy and his own crew to shape and build, we ll gamble the same ol "just give Garrett a great player at every position and hey he ll win" routine. Cant wait.

The offense was wonderful and a delight, sadly came from 2 rookies. So its not like we got the stellar work from the previous offense, we needed 2 rookies to get us over after a bad season Thankfully that bad season was bailed out by a good season. Than we get to the playoffs, and talking about the playoffs is usually wrapped up in 1 sentence, Dallas came up agianst a superior team, and came up short, the end.

We also captialized on a very sub par league. Remember we had a stretch of some very great teams, until they hit the field. True we had a few glorious wins, dont get me wrong. Yet one of these teams we beat, while praising them on not being a suck team, turned around and wailed on us to, something Garrett forgot, onto the next game, because it wasnt regular season.

Dont forget the Giants whos slogan this year was "Dallas who?"

Did the RKG culture take off? Whos enjoying the perks of that? Am i right. How about the dunbar experiment, enjoying the fruits of that? McFadden, was so glad he came here and we wasted a season on him.

Starting Witten also paid off big time. Im still tryign to get the parade info for that. Big win with that.

So for the optimists who are glossing over the big gift we were handed, lets hope for a great draft to bail us out and see which useless players we ll keep, Fingers crossed the other teams just keep tehir teams and not bother getting better. Im really feeling it this year guys. Heres to taking out the best RB in the league, our own.

Most of the negative in all of that is simply carrying the burden of a projected counter, personal matter of generalized agenda, not topic considerations. Kind of like fighting a dragon in Don Quixote...which was all allegorical in nature.

For the record, this fan HATES the flagrant smugness of New York...but there, one smacks them square in the jaw and moves on.

A single game doesn't a single season make, or BREAK...only in a short sided venue.

Fair enough, but i dont just scream "things suck" I try to implement fact. Is that unfair?

im willign to give him another year IF IF Dallas gets someone to get at the QB. Than i think Carr can take advantage of that.

I want both, Carr and Claiborne, back for next season...just stucko around the group then. Yea, a good drafted corner as well.

I would take two defensive linemen, 1 & 2. Then secondary and linebackers.

This "window" could be about like the "romo" window which is now closed.
Very lame and very unbiased opinion. IF you want to do a rah rah piece, just have a picture of the cheerleaders and say "because we re the Cowboys" Plenty of posters will love it and repeat it.

IF you are going to be honest, write what we know "who knows whats in store for the Cowboys, from bad to good, good to average, average to average" Thats what Jason Garrett has brought. The playoffs are his boon and he has rested comfortably in the "on par" category. Does he strike fear into any team, no because he ll have the tendency to work against whatever his team does well. Does he prep his team to win, unless its against a lame QB, see a hobbled RG3 and Aaron Rodgers. He has beaten the bad, had flashes of something good and left the season as expected, beaten in the playoffs and left their fans dreaming of more. In fact Dallas has a better season with a rookie RB and a rookie QB , games where Dallas was in contention to win but to be disappointed by the expected turnover and instead came down to his team staying in the fight. In previous seasons games were won by Romos sheer will and desire to do good for the Cowboys despite their best efforts to hamper him. This year playoffs was not different for Linehan and Garrett tho, they thrilled the Cowboys by taking home field advantage in the playoffs this year only to neutralize the best RB in the league, their own. Doing another one and done the Cowboys FO feels, "another year for Garrett to learn" has been a solid approach, so why rock the boat. With a young core coming and the league not having stability, i guess the Jones boys are hoping other teams do for them what they refuse to do, play bad enough the Cowboys have another chance at the playoffs.

What is the goal for the offseason, same as before, another draft where the fans scream "we had another great draft" get a player or two and be content with whatever else befalls them, a project player, a converted player, hell anyone has a chance being picked by the cowboys. Only played two years in college, we ll take a chance on you, changed positions in a small school and dazzled against lesser talent, if the stats say you are great, we are buying. Previous injury, hey who doesnt love to gamble? Dallas is the next Vegas where anything is a gamble. 20 plus years of average has given us a sense of "who cares anymore". Make sure to collect that check, let the stadium sell and as long as the fans are willing to scream "we love everything Dallas does" just slap a pretty bow on the season and head on to the next, because the word the Big D in Dallas doesnt stand for "Dominant" anymore.

We are also expecting Garrett to plan that the NFCE to stay static because they never try to get better. Washington will invest in some wr's, Giants in their offensive line and the Eagles getting some help for Wentz, Dallas is just expecting things to remain the same. Obviously those franchises will do their best to accommodate the Cowboys, in what alternate reality we dont know, but it seems to be the train of thought around Cowboys headquarters.

To check out the glory years of Dallas, you ll have to purchase technology that isnt in production much or a vaccum to collect the dust if you have one buried in the cellar. Kids be sure to ask your parents how to work such antiquated technology.

Im Gil and ill just use this article for next year, see ya than.

That would be honest.

lol yeah that is the "process" both 2014 and 16 surprised cowboy fans and got us all excited only to be agains surprised by our defeats
in playoffs, games we could have won with better coaching.
but to be honest, most teams dont have good coaches either, all ex-players, using the same stuff they learned from other coaches.
Parcells called it the "boys club"

Next season is a new one, so what happened this season doesnt mean a whole lot, Carolina is a good example of that.
We do have a window, but getting thru it is another story.

Our team this year was good enough to beat GB, and possibly Atlanta, but they were one and done.
Blame our defense, but GB and Atlanta did not have better players on defense than us, and not exactly known for their defense,
yet one beat us, and the other is in the SB.......why?
Points allowed
Dallas 306
GB 388
Atlanta 406

So the team whose defense allowed 100 points more than dallas has a better defense than Dallas??
I say it all comes down to coaching in playoffs, and sometimes players can make wins happen with great plays, despite the coaching,
but most times it is the coaching.
A example is GB against seattle, in 2014, had the game won, but let up and lost.
That is why Atlanta did not let up against GB this year.

Please, please don't waste this chance. Dallas, I've seen one SB win, and I had just turned 11 two months earlier. I'm starving for a ring, especially since I now realize how hard they are to get.

I hear ya, friend. I was 7 when Dallas lost to Pittsburgh 35-31. Most early memories included heartbreak... 3 straight
NFC Champinship losses... watching all the remaining greats of the 80s retire.. and so on.

Then. Boom! The 90s. The youngest team in the league was also the fastest, the best coached, the most confident, the most talented.
The Dallas Cowboys. It was a great time to be alive. (even greater as by now I'm over 21...lol) Along with
many celebratory adult beverages, hundreds of dollars in Cowboys merchandise was happily purchaesd.

I hope you get to see this group lift a Lombardi. It's definitely harder to get there these days. They may only get one.
It's possible they don't get any at all. But I do believe that they will be "in the coversation" for Super Bowl talk for
the next 4-5 years... maybe longer this time. Yes, the defense STILL needs work. But us fans have reason to be hopeful.

Holy crap are you drunk?

That wall of text is borderline unintelligible.

I'm not kidding.

And I'm certainly not going to waste my time trying to reason with nonsense.

too late to add it , but seattle defense allowed 292 points and dallas 306
So not much difference.
in NFC,
NYG were # 1 with 284
# 2 Seattle with 292
# 3 Dallas with 306
So our players cant be as bad as some make them out to be.
