It's about time. With all the contributers getting into the HOF lately I was wondering when he'd get a shot.

As much as Brandt contributed to the Cowboys, and it was significant, I don't think he's a Hall of Famer.

He wasn't the GM of the team - Tex Schramm was. It was Schramm's idea to go to computerized scouting, bringing in Salaam Querishi from IBM to develop the program that drove it. Schramm also was the one who drafted Roger Staubach. Brandt did find a lot of great players, but his last 10 drafts were an absolute disaster that killed the team in the 1980's. Those 10 seasons hurt his legacy as much as anything else.

He may get extra consideration for his work with NFL.com, the scouting combine and NFL Radio. It will be interesting to see how this turns out.

He's the only reason I keep Sirius sat radio, they guy's forgotten a million times more info than I'll ever know about pro football.

He's a walking encyclopedia, and one of the most genuinely nice guys in pro sports.

So glad to see another Landry era team member up for consideration, now let's get Chuck Howley, Harvey Martin, Drew Pearson, Too Tall Jones and the others who have long deserved to be enshrined in Canton!! And get rid of Gosselin or none of them will get in!

If it was up to me I would put Brandt in the ROH. His methods for finding players were ahead of their time. He was so successful at what he did he's still getting paid to talk football at 82 years old.
