I would not say that Watson was dominant nor would I say he stunk up the joint, but I don't believe he did anything to merit us drafting him at #18.

I still think he's a 2nd rounder in my book. He could move up into the first after workouts, but he's got a few creases to iron out before I mention him in the same breath as Ngata at this time.

The following are my initial impressions of some of the players from the game.

On defense perhaps the best performance put in by any prospect on either team was that by Penn State's Tamba Hali, who had two sacks and was a major presence throughout the game. The other stud up front was Gabe Watson, who was a force in the middle and his impact can truly not be measured by stats.
The story of this game was the guys in the trenches, who really dominated their South counterparts

I agree - Hali was the defensive All Star of game. Those that watched Watson's every snap know he was far from "owned". Collapsed the middle frequently and was often in Souths backfield. (Ask Croyle who was clocked by Watson a few times second half!) North dominated line of scrimmage all in all.

Cutler played to his draft grade as a questionable top 50.
Lets hope some team wants to give us the ranch ala Losman trade and move up to 18!!!!!!!!!
Let's start talking about Hali then. Seems like he made more of an impact than Watson or even Lawson.....

Gilles will probably fall......Watson will probably be taken higher than he should.

That being said, I'd love to see them both with a star on their helmet.

I just don't think he has enough giddy up in his step to drop into coverage.
That's what I've read and heard BUT I'm waiting to see how his workouts are. IF he runs in the 4.60 - 4.70 range, would he be a viable pick for us w/ the #18 pick???
