Escobar's blocking looked significantly better than at anytime in the past. He has always been a good receiver that I think could be even better if he had enough opportunities. It has to be difficult to excel when you only get 1 or 2 passes throw to you per game.
I like Traylor, but the Cowboys had a guy 2 or 3 years ago that was a very good in-line blocker, but they didn't even keep him on the practice squad. His problem was that he didn't learn the offense well enough to function in the multiple roles (h-back, going in motion, pulling across the formation, lining up in the backfield, etc.). Swaim seems to be doing some of those extra roles but I only recall Traylor lining up in the tradition TE role.
I agree that Rico Gathers is too much of a project, but the Cowboys always seem to keep 1 or 2 projects on the roster. They had OT Weems on the 53 for part of 2012, all of 2013, all of 2014 and part of 2015. He was on the 46 just 1 time.
