Ginn and Stanton, 1 & 2?

Stautner;1468635 said:
Sorry - frankly I haven't kept up with guys like Stanton enough to know where he is projected. Early on there was a very wide range of thoughts on where Stanton would go - I'm not current on that, so get over it.

Nevertheless, it's equally ridiculous that you don't think people should be able to name the round they think a player should go - that's what drafts and draft discussions are all about. Obviously that rule doesn't apply to you though ......

It is not about me.

It is about knowing what a player's value is.

This is not a world that revolves around what the Cowboys do. There are 31 other teams and each has an opinion of each player.

I'd love for a number of players that have second or third round reputation to plummet to the second day (all the way through most of the 4th round no less) so we could gleefully snap them up. But I know it won't happen, so I don't waste time wishing for it.

Unless you know Stanton has failed a drug test or something, your prognosis for his status is wrong. It goes against practically every prognosis about this player.

Every source states he is a first day choice at some point. It just takes a few seconds to Google it.

If you don't know what you are talking about, try to remain out of the grown up discussions.

wow, calm down dude, he just told you that he's not up to date

And throw it in the garbage.

Just kidding. Although I consider Ginn to be risk at 22 due to his injury history and limited skills as a receiver, I do think he could have an impact this year on special teams and as a slot WR.

Stanton would be a good value in the late 2nd or early 3rd. He has the measurables and he's smart. He would be a good risk at pick #53 and could potentially develop into a quality QB.

It is not the best, but it certainly establishes some firepower in terms of the offense.

I am not completely convinced Romo is the savior. And I know we will need a WR within a few years.

I do not see the harm.

It would be quite bold, granted.

Then get up to date.

The draft is in a few days.

You are going to great lengths to prove a point about Stanton that I already conceded ....... RELAX. The horse is dead and you look stupid for continuing to beat it.

As for any other speculation with any other player, if you think it's ridiculous to discuss and speculate and comment about where players will or should be drafted then why the hell are you wasting time on a website dedicated to discussing and speculating and commenting about the Cowboys and the NFL?

Why not get off the computer and just wait for the draft?

Apparently you either read or comprehend better than he does.

It is one thing to discuss, speculate or comment about the Cowboys. That is what this board is for.

It is another to defend a post that again speaks to a fantasy land that is built with our best interests in mind.

There are many, many things I would love to happen. But I don't waste my time or others attempting to discuss it.

Your goal with posting might be different than mine, I suppose. I try to have discussions that are relevant, not pie in the sky. Particularly about things of which I have little to no expertise about.

Apparently you either read or comprehend better than he does.

Or he's more tolerant of uneducated opinions.

You have admitted it, so you are right, we can move on.

Wow - you are proving more and more to be an elitist, self important *******. Apparently you so seldom make a valid point that on the occassion you do you have to drone on and on and on and on and on and on about it, making sure everyone knows.

I fckd up - either get over it or keep proving yourself to be a ******* - it's your choice.

And by the way, you didn't just cite this example with your original comments - you ridiculed the enitire idea of anyone ever saying they would like to draft a certain player in a certain round. Well, suppose I had said I would like to draft Stanton in Round 2 or 3 ........ according to you I would be an idiot for doing that. According to you, it's ridiculous to suggest you would like a certain player in a certain round at all.

By the way, "grown up discussions" consist of an open exchange and even an admission of a mistake when approprite - not screaming over and over and over again that you are right and smarter than the other party, even though the other party has conceded your original point. That, my friend is a little boy getting trying to get into an "are not/am too" argument.

no, it's more like I don't see the need to keep up the bashing of someone who's already admitted to their mistake

Just read a newer mock draft on ProfootballTalk.com that has us taking Ginn at 22 and Drew Stanton, QB, at 53.

At first I thought Ginn could go there in Rd 1, but Stanton at 53? Is he even in the top 53 rated players? Well, on some lists he is actually right in that mix of players rated between 50th and 60th or so of the top 100.

How would you like to see a QB to Dallas in Rd 2, Stanton or otherwise?

No! No! No!

I am over it. Are you? You seem content to defend the fact you made an error.

And by the way, you didn't just cite this example with your original comments - you ridiculed the enitire idea of anyone ever saying they would like to draft a certain player in a certain round.

That isn't my point at all. If the opinion is uninformed, then it is false. Simple as that. You have admitted it, fair enough.

Again, I would love to come out of the first day with a myriad of different players, but I know it will not happen. The key is understanding the relative value of the players you are discussing.

Not at all. That would be right in line with how he has been projected. Now, if you do not know what you are talking about, which you have admitted, then that is point of the discussion.

You are not alone. There are plenty of uninformed individuals who love to propose strange ideas. I object when people post outlandish ideas. That is just a pet peeve of mine.

Like I said, you admitted you were wrong. And I will give you credit for admitting that.

And perhaps I have rubbed your nose in it more than I should. Fair enough. I will extend an apology.

You didn't rub my nose in it because I never felt embarassed. I am not uneducated in football or life and I am not going to cow down to a pompous ***.

I am content to defend the fact that I made an error - do you think I should be defending my original false statement ........ ?

I have pet peeves as well, and I understand the need to point out those things that you see as a consistent problem. If you knew me you would realize that I don't let things like this slide either. Harping incessently is another matter though - especially when no one is disputing the mistake. Being an overbearing *** is a much worse offense than the one you are claiming.

There, now I feel better. All is forgiven.

Very good. No need to bow down to a pompous *** like me. I like to debate.

So do I. This is far more cathartic than kicking the dog.
