Now would be the time to see if Stephen McGee is worth keeping.
We know what we have in Kitna as a back up . What's the sense of having McGee if we don't know what he can do.

Nows a good a time as any.

We ain't goin nowhere :D

won't happen, but it should. We may never get another shot as good as this to see what we have in the young qb. The season is over and so he would be able to come in at get 9 games of experience. If he shows something, great. If not, then it might be time to look at another qb to groom for the future.

He will not get a chance to play next year with romo back, so why not now. Kitna has no future with his age

Who cares if he is worth keeping.
He isn't going to ever be a top NFL QB.
I can't believe we waste our time talking about whether or not we should see this guy play.

Last 3 or 4 games of season, perhaps.

But not now.

They would be smart to start playing some guys at other positions though. There's no question that guys like Davis, Colombo, Brooking, Ball and even Sensabaugh are awful and have no future here, might as well start playing the younger guys to see if anyone here cna be a potential replacement for next yr.

I'm not wasting my time on this question . If you think you are, don't post on the thread!!!!

I would like to see him get two or three starts late in the year.

Like someone mentioned in the chat this afternoon, it will help Dez's development to play with a veteran like Kitna as much as possible. That's a good reason to wait awhile.

He'd rather waste everyone's times with a "Choice should play RB because he caught 4 passes in garbage time and that makes him better" thread.

mr. check down?

Romo resembles that remark also. We don't throw down the field anymore. McGee will fit like a glove behind this porous offensive line.

They already said they dont think he is ready to start, why throw the guy to the wolves?

Yea, I mean I know he's not supposed to be a super star ,but either was Romo.

Lats see what he's got, and if there is enough potential there to keep him on the roster.

I sure would hate to have to rely on him in different circumstances like being in the playoffs and have to call his number because of injuries and he never saw the field.;) .

I didn't know anyone said anything about him.

He doesn't necessarily have to start I would just like to see him what he has to offer, since he's there and we're not going any where anyway.

Was Sam Bradford ready to start? Was Sanchez ready to start? I think that logic is complete BS...this isn't 1989 anymore. Young QBs are expected to start and perform.

Those QB's were in different situations though. They were drafted with the idea that VERY EARLY, they were going to be the franchise QB.

McGee was not drafted to be the franchise QB today. he was drafted a s a development guy behind Romo. Romo is gonna be the guy here for awhile.

...and he's had some time to develop. More than some are given. Why is he occupying a roster spot and getting a check if he can't play? Throw the guy in there and see what he can do.

If he can't play, then he doesn't need to be getting a check.

OK, say they throw him in there and he doesnt do well right now, you are arguing he's basically a waste and we should get rid of him?

I think he should get some PT at some point this season, but not now. Let him get more meaningful reps in practice first. He isnt ready right now, so why rush him?

Only reason Jerry is not seeing what the young guys can do at this point is to keep the fantasy alive that they havent thrown in the towel. Thinking people are still gonna fork over money to attend games and buy gear. He is horrified at the prospect of a half empty palace on Thanksgiving. The reality is they should see what they have on the bottom of the roster, there is no practical reason not too.

Only way it wont be is if a ton of Saints fans show up.

There were already 10's of thousands of noshows today, and those that did come all started piling out early.
