to me its an easy decision. showers has more talent than weeden and vaughan combined. i dont care how much more experience weeden and vaughan have over showers, we are doomed if romo goes down so ill go with the upside back up and that is showers.

i'm rooting for showers. i have no idea whether he'll ever be starter material, but he has a strong arm and he can move; he's tough; and he's doing everything they ask him to, including protecting on returns and running down kicks and punts, too.

There is an old saying, or question...who is the most popular guy in town....answer, the backup QB....as soon as the starter struggles, everyone wants the Backup and wants the starter ridden out of town.


Well, we have the 4th stringer to,replace the 2nd and 3rd stringer...
I can understand after tonight's game, I even moved Showers just a bit behind Vaughan. But need to see more.
Actually from all 3.

I liked what I seen from Showers but I need to see more. I ca certainly see why people, want to see him as the backup. So won't argue against that. But for me, too,early to switch gears yet. But I am pulling for him.

Remember other past QBs that looked good only not to have made it.

Totally agree and I posted the same thing after last week's game. If Romo goes down all we can hope for in the backup is a guy that won't lose the game for us while they try to win with our OL and Defense. Vaughn and Showers are both developmental guys and all this game did was likely move Vaughn to the Practice Squad instead of the active roster.

That was posted last week by @arglebargle. I would love to see them give Showers some reps at RB and HB and let him be a Slash type and 3rd QB this year. That would be entertaining.

I wanted flowers the whole damn game, Vaughan throws one good pass then 5 bad ones, looks like he throws side arm by the time he's letting out is being hit, Shower mobility helps a lot.

Weeden is not better than McGee, and McGee was awful. Like I mentioned in another thread, I would love to see Showers, (Vaughn too), play with the starters for 2-3 quarters. We know that Weeden is bad no matter who he's playing with.
