Give Romo credit for tackle and TD drive *Merge*

He might have been off on a few throws high, but he made a potential TD saving tackle (seemed like a ton of daylight in front of that defender who was moving fast the other way) after the fumble where he took his injury and it sounds like (Pain injection, 45 minutes of treatment after game) that he was pretty dinged up and that was affecting his throws.

Remember Romo also ran for a nice 1st down on 3rd down once, not sliding.

Then he did a nice TD drive, with his patented escape from pressure at end to buy time to win the game.

That is pretty clutch, and like has been said or posted before, he does give us a chance to win every game.

The pick was a deflection and was 4th down anyway, so on those I don't mind the gunslinging. He got lucky that 2 other deflections went through the hands (and chests) of Commanders as well, although again they were full on deflections.

I can't really explain the Roy Williams, Romo issues. Another step back today after small steps forward. It is just like it is jinxed. I think Roy Williams has a HUGE Confidence issue right now, and is sulking a little bit. I don't think it is fair that Roy is the scapegoat he has been for a number of weeks for offensive woes, but he needs to step up and start making some plays. Shame is, every chance he has to make a play it seems like it would take something sensational and right now the confidence and breaks aren't coming.

For us to make a move in December and playoffs, I do think either they need to start connecting more or they might need to take RW off the field more. Deserving or not, it might be time to just go with what "might" work more smoothly, whether that is Crayton or Ogletree or a combo of those guys instead, or maybe more throws to Bennett (who quietly played well in passing game today).

Tony's father told him the definition of a leader, "a guy who does whatever it takes..."

That's what Tony did today.

Forgot to mention the 1st big gain throw to Austin for 23 yards, where Romo made something outta basically nothing and made a crisp accurate throw pretty much running other way and off balance.

Clutch play.

Hip Pointer is what Wade's post gamer said.

Best play of the day...well maybe second best since I believe his td was the best but so was that tackle. He saved a touchdown. Put his body on the line. Terrible Romo performance today but today was the 1st time I saw that Tony wanted it. He put his body on the line. He didn't have to do that. I don't think we should ask our qb to do that. But he did it. Props to Tony.

The magnitude of that play seemed to be lost on some folks. That tackle may have saved the game. I just hope the injury doesn't linger or affect him long term.

I never doubt TR's heart and the way he continues to battle regardless of the circumstances. The tackle and the gaming winning drive reaffirms it for me. He drove them when they needed it most.

Ugly W today...I'll take it.

..Romo got some encouragement from D.Ware on the sidelines , nobody got down on him.....good to see

now if only Garrett could adapt during halftime to what the Packers & now the skins are doing to the offense and most off. coordinatiors would do..........it shouldnt take him to the the 11 day break between the Raiders & Giants game......

Romo did not have his best passer day but it was very nice to see him out there fighting for the win in whatever way he could.

Boy was that good to see. Romo tends to be a loner when things aren't going smoothly. Ware reminded him that he wasn't alone and the rest of the team believes in him.

I agree. I loved and hated the play. I hated he took that contact. But it saved a td and the game IMO. As incompetent as our offense was I definitely think its safe to say he saved the game.

Lets also credit Romo for playing through that injury. It was obvious that it affected him...he didn't step into many throws.

If you look at his post game conference on DC.com at the very end you could see him grimacing trying to get off the podium.

Let me explain it then. Here is the line Joe Buck has repeated week after week: Off the hands of Roy Williams, incomplete. Most overated player in the NFL, bar none.

Getting pretty tough to defend RW, if the ball keeps hitting him in the hands. This team needs to work on jump balls on both offense and defense. Austin has dropped about 5 of them this year too, and one cost us the 4th down today. Austin also seems to jump too early frequently. Romo has been high at times all year though, and somehow seems to be high on RW a lot. Bennett came up with those today at least. Newman got out jumped by Marshall costing us the Denver game.

I dont know where I read this, but this kinda win is how Ben Rothlessburger does it. He pretty much sucks the 1st 3 quarters and the defense keeps them in the game, but when the 4th Q rolls around and you need a drive to win, Ben pulls through. That was Tony today.

If you watch any Vikings games, Harvin and Rice are consistently catching high Brett Favre throws on a weekly basis. For some reason, Williams and Austin can't make those plays. Favre is pretty high on many of his throws but his receivers are always coming through for him. Our WR's don't do the same for Romo.

Ben's QB rating in the 1st half (102) is basically the same as his rating in the 4th quarter (101.6). Obviously, QB rating isn't everything, but it certainly indicates that what you're saying may not be so. And that's not my experience when watching him.

I for one, am happy to have a qb like Romo leading this team. I think games like this, when things were not going their way but he still finds a way to win, are better examples of a good QB than the 350 3 td's games we're so accustomed to from him. Show's that he wont just lay down....

That's exactly how I described Tony's performance to everyone. I don't like Ben, but he is probably the most clutch QB these days. Tony reminded me of Ben today. Loved Tony's patience and clutch performance when we needed it most.
