The Cowboys have had one of the league's elite vertical passing games despite Terry Glenn's absence.
Expect that to improve with their best field-stretcher back in the mix. Tony Romo said Glenn is back to blazing when he runs in a straight line. The question is how quickly Glenn can get out of his cuts.
"His vertical stretch and stuff like that, he's going to be just fine," said Romo, who is tied with Tom Brady for the most 20-plus-yard completions in the league (54). "That's going to add something pretty big, I think."

That's wonderful, but I highly doubt he'll have an impact during the playoffs.

I also wish him the best of luck after football. Cause this is obviously his last year. Even if he doesn't retire, we'd be morons to keep him on the roster

If his speed really is where they said it is he will impact the playoffs. Defenses are gonna have to defend us differently now cause they still have to worry about TO and Witten underneath and this could help the run game by opening up some lanes while worrying about glenn strething the field for the long ball. Lets not even mention what kind of damage we could do if we went 3wide with Crayton in the mix also. We can be even more explosive

Oh he'll have an impact, believe me. It's just rather or not it's with the ball in his hands or not.

And dont rule him coming back next year. He has a full offseason to rehab and strengthen the knee. Just because someone is old, doesnt mean they cant play. Now, I'm all for drafting his replacement...

well hopefully he can take the field and put to rest some of the debates. i'd love to be surprised, i just have my overall doubts he can come back and be the glenn we remember.

What debate is that Ice?

I know there isn't anyone on this board that thinks Glenn coming back is a bad thing?

You know what I love about this Glenn situation. Most people seem to be talking as this is it for Glenn, as long as he doesn't get hurt in the playoffs I don't see why he doesn't come back next year. It would surprise me if he didn't come back next year.

Interesting.

I know he signed a contract extension last year, but I don't know what the numbers

I still don't think he is back next year.

a true vertical threat will open up some things for TO, he may not be that much of an impact personally, but he'll make an impact in the passing game just having his speed out there

and there are some of us who would be surprised if he did. pleasantly if he can still perform at a high level. but that *is* a legitmate question at his age, history, and so forth. for some people it's just laughter-cannon fodder, the rest of us try to talk through things like that.

A healthy Terry Glenn is going to be nasty for opposing DC's!

Wade said he was running full speed and had good quickness at his PC.

Lets see if it swells tomorrow.

hope not! but after so many times of disappointment, it's cautious optimism. : )

I'm going to disagree with that big time. Our vertical game fits TG's skill set perfectly.

This person speaketh the truth.

Super Bowl III...Joe Namath said the biggest play of the game was a pass that fell incomplete to Don Maynard.

Maynard entered the game with a bad hamstring pull...but played anyway.

Early in the game, Maynard was sent deep. Namath overthrew him. Maynard had gotten behind the Colt secondary.

The Colts were so concerned about Maynard that George Sauer beat them on intermediate routes, under the deep coverage, all game.

I think Glenn could provide a deep threat which would help to loosen up the coverage in other places.
