we can still acquire talent. get better and still get draft picks and build a top notch defense over the next couple of years. the two aren't necessarily dependent on each other. and wether we like it or not, Dak is here for another couple of years. so wasting a year and not taking a chance when the offense is playing at the levels it is, would be a waste of a year. you have to take a shot. now I get it with the Dak post season comments. I would directly blame him mostly for two of the losses, but there were a couple of them that wasn't necessarily him, as he did what he was supposed to .

so your plan is long term. my thought is address some short term and still do the long term. you just want to give up, where I think we can take a shot. why not!? no one can explain that. just because you don't like Dak is not a good enough reason not to take a shot.

btw, we do have a top 5 rush game. the offense the way they play don't necessarily need a top 10 defense.

To me, a top 5 QB is not just responsible for losses that are his fault, he is also responsible for not being able to overcome mistakes by other players esp if you are within 3-4 points late in the game and the ball is in your hands

As a top 5 QB, you have to get your team over the top in that position more often than not and a 2-5 playoff record over 10 years tells me he cant

I would say as an elite QB you are able to overcome your team's mistake. and there is usually about 2 and at most 3 of those types..... top 5, top 10, etc. is meaningless. you are either elite or you are not. IMHO, right now Mahomes and Burrows, although he is getting hit a lot and often injured.....some will argue and put Allen in there, but I am on the fence. he is certainly in the conversation.

the rest you can rank and rate as you wish. its sometimes matter of preference for some. or matter of what they want to argue about.

and I am sure somebody will bring up contract value...to me that's irrelevant. market is what market is. the buyer and seller set the value and come to agreement. its about cap management.

Well blame the GM for the contracts and I think if the GM really wanted to he would be able to sign pickens...how do eagles do it? How do other teams do it? So I don't buy into this 60M thing...it's the Dak detractors talking point we had almost 65M of cap space this year. 5M QB salary difference is not the difference between becoming totally handicapped and having all the flexibility. Like I said other teams do it.

Dak has had a couple of bad playoff games for sure. Couple of other losses is not necessarily on him. The loss to GB his rookie year. And the loss to Rams who literally shoved the ball down our throat .. he has had issues against SF. The GB debacle was Dak, CD, coaches, defense, running game just everything.

And I don't blame you..as they say proof is in the pudding. But unlike you I am not ready to give up. We can say screw it, let defense suck and even if we make playoffs and defense is like this we will lose for sure...and then Everyone wants to blame Dak for another loss.

So IMHO let's give it a chance. Couple of pieces to the defense and help it be around 20-25 range and to me that's enough to give this team a chance.

And then next Two years. Knowing Dak is here. I don't want to suck because I hate Dak. We focus on building a defense. To me unlike some Dak detractors is not about proving Dak sucks. It's about winning whatever it takes
