Go get a Difference Maker on D

Go get a Difference Maker on D
I don't understand this at all. The Cowboys had one and just traded him a few weeks ago. So you are advocating the Cowboys need to use some high picks and trade for a difference maker???

This defense is broken. It will take more than one big addition to make a difference. Keep the draft picks for next April.

Well first of all way too soon you can't waste a draft pick if you're not even gonna make the playoffs if they beat the Panthers and won today we're on a little streak maybe before the trade deadline Jerry would have thought about it but right now they need to go out beat the Broncos and do it by stacking a good win on it not looking bad and barely winning or losing that game we need to show it'd be worth going after a player..

Those like six other threads about this we've already been discussing this for weeks you cannot waste valuable draft picks that are more valuable during the draft for trade value or for picking where they are You need to make sure your team is worth one player away type value and I don't think we are one player away on defense..

I mean who is this person you're talking about that literally you know for a fact that 100 percent guaranteed lead pipe lock will change this defense?

I know this when we get diggs, revel, and Overshown back and playing actual Man D on consistent bais If Matt wants to stick to getting some pressure and helping his defense out we already have help in house jerry was right when he said that i'm not agreeing with Jerry about everything but you can't go out and give it this guy you're talking about unless you know you're going to the playoffs like adding him will put you over the top and right now we're sitting at 500 just above if you count the tie and that's not good enough to go out and waste a draft pick on another player...

There's a lot of people's opinions not just mine go read around look around you'll find out we've been discussing this already for weeks..
Hate to burst your bubble but I have a hunch Diggs has played his last down as a Dallas Cowboy.

Get a difference-maker on defense.....just don't pay him.

Any budding defensive superstars out there willing to take a 75% pay cut? I know that elite defensive players are a burden to a team so I'm confident many teams would love to unload theirs.

We had that guy. he was one of the best if not the best. Jerry traded him.

Obviously, our GM, with his impressive 30 years of experience, knows exactly what he is doing. Therefore, I can only assume that this difference-maker is already on the team. Is he injured? When does he return?

Murray looked more competent yesterday, and James improves every week, but really we need backers.

Overshown HAS to get it on when he gets back into the lineup for this current defense to get a few stops a game and allow us to win. Clark and Sanborn are backup/teamers. Murray usually sucks, although he made some plays against Washington.

The rise if James has already given us a minor boost. Down the stretch having James at Mike and Overshown at Will might change how this defense looks if Overshown is 85% of his norm.

Seems like James can blitz. Overshown can also blitz. Think about how that opens this defense up for rush and blitz packages. These guys can make the impact plays that Sanborn and Clark flat out don't have the athleticism (Sanburn) or brains (Clark) to make.

Outside of a trade scenario, this and Revel being able to contribute above average are really our only hopes.

Not sure who would be available? We really need a dynamic LBer— but who would even be out there to trade for? Most teams are still trying to win and likely aren’t interested in parting with a key defender.

Not saying it isn’t possible— but unlikely.

Besides, I really want them to keep those first rounders.
Dynamic would cost way too much. Need 2 solid LBs and a S, minimum.

You sure? 28th last season w/ Parsons.
As I have posted before per Ed Werder on Parsons trade:

12 GMS/FO Staff consulted:

10- thought the Packers won the trade
0- thought it was a good trade for the Cowboys
2-would re-consider if Cowboys were in rebuild (which clearly they are not)

Parsons was way too expensive and would have crashed this team financially. I hated the trade because Jerry didn't get a stud in return.

But this team now has serious draft stock to stay put and get good players, or move as needed.
Good players? I would rather have the great player Parsons is. As do the 12 front office staff consulted by Ed Werder around the NFL

I'm sure they all said they'd rather have Parsons. I'd rather have parsons. But with Dak's salary, and CeeDee's. And the impending Picken's salary, - unless Jerry is a complete idiot, which he may be - there is no more money for Parsons.

So what these people, consulted by Werder or not have to say is what we all have to say. We'd like to keep Parsons.

But rookies coming in, to the number of two first for each of the next two years, along with a second in 2026 and a second and third the in 2027 goes a long way in replacing Parsons. Because if those player selected for defense to the tune of three or four players and rise to the level of really good players, they will ALWAYS be able to cover more ground than Parsons during every play.

I hate it. You hate it. The people questioned hate it.

But the reality is this team could be much more significant with Parsons playing in Green Bay down the road.

Because in the final analysis, not one of us mentioned in this thread, or speaking to each other have one iota of say in how this goes down.

We had one.

He’s in GB now.

I think Over gets a shot at the title.

Seriously, get another stud DT and DE. A FS would be gravy. We're fine at RB and O is almost back. Wouldn't be mad if they signed kendricks for LB depth. He is better than, probably all of our LB's not named Overshown.

Dude was a cancer here. We all know it. He’s gone. Let’s go.
