Since Willie Randolph left, the team has made up 7.5 games to the Phillies and now lead by 2. Since Rick Peterson has left, Ollie Perez looks as nasty as any left hander not named Sabathia. Delgado finally returned from his trip with the Aliens and look like the Delgado from Toronto days.

A right handed corner outfielder is all the Mets need to put some distance between themselves and the Phillies/Marlins.

What took managment so long to get rid of Willie Randolph. Jerry Manuel has been a breath of fresh air.

I don't like, watch or follow baseball.

That said I do keep up with Mike Pelfrey. He is from my hometown and went to high school about 2 miles from my house and college about 4 miles from my house. I've seen him pitch (and dominate) many times.

My wife used to work with his mom and that is how I got to meet him. He was still in high school at the time and looked more like a hoops player to me.

Other than him, I couldn't name one Met starter. But if their success makes the Yankees look bad then I'm all for it. :D So go Mets!

philly-Cowboy---as long as the Mets are up 8 with 17 to play, they have a chance..:laugh2:

Big Dog, Pelfrey has been great the last two months. His only drawback is that he has Scott Boras as his agent. But the guy can pitch.

Yes, they are playing extremely well right now. But for some reason I dont know why they keep Marlon Anderson on the roster, good god, he is hitting .094 with runners in scoring position and .202 total with him behind Wright/Beltran/Delgado it is not a good spot for him. too bad for them that Alou is out for the year, he is the perfect fit to be right behind them.

Obviously, I'm a Twins fan but I wouldn't mind the Mets getting to the WS.

Cliff Lee is still pitching as well as anyone in the majors right now.

I heard about him before Pelfrey finally signed with the Mets. It took almost a year and everybody around here was trying to figure out what the problem was. I never understood why he just didn't get a new agent.

Thanks for JOhan. The guy has pitched in horrible luck this year. He has giventhe lead to the bullpen in 6 or 7 games this year where they blew it. He should be at 14 or 15 wins with the way he has pitched.

I agree on Marlon Anderson. The guy may be great in the clubhouse but he provides nothing on the field or at bat. Time to let him go....

Yeah he has just over a 3.00 ERA and is BARELY over .500 with a 8-7 record.
But as well as the Mets are playing now, they should get him some more wins, I sure wish the Mets woulda made a harder play at Damaso Marte for some bullpen help instead of the Yankees though

Yeah as it stands you guys STOLE Johan from us right now. Ugh, Mulvey is still very young and so is Humber but they are both struggling in the minors right now. Humber actually got moved to the bullpen right now

I sure wish the Twins wouldve taken their heads out of their butts and accepted the Red Sox deal with Ellsbury and Masterson or Lester and Masterson, but they HAD TO hold off and try to get Ellsbury AND Lester plus Masterson and another prospect..

Even if the Mets go to the playoffs, do they really expect to win with that bullpen?

You seem surprised?

Just noticed you never commented about the Eagles/Cowboys after the game.

You talked quite a bit before it.

mets don't deserve the Playoffs. Their bullpen has been absolutely horrible. Just like last year, they can't hold a lead. 30 blown saves this year is unreal. I read an article today that if the games were only 6 innings long, the Mets would lead teh division by 12 games. Now they are relying on guys that were not even on the team 45 days ago.

WAgner goes out for the year 2 days after the trading deadline. How unfortunate was that. I hope they trade the farm next year for the reliever from Kansas City. Then they have to release Heilman, Sanchez, Feliciano, and Schowenweiss. the whole bullpen needs to be blown up. What a mess. Luis Ayala and Brian Stokes are their main guys now. Never even heard of these guys July 30.

Maybe next year. Grr!!!!

Da Braves!!!

Braves can only play well against the Mets for some reason and quit against everyone else. And I hope somebody hits Mike Gonzalez in the noggin with all that swaying back and forth on the mound.

Mets suck.

Yes, this is true.

If Johan Santana could pitch 162 games during the regular season, they would be in great shape.
