Going for 2 costs us Guyton

Players can get hurt on any given play. Going for 2 didn't cause the injury. Injury could have happened on his next snap regardless. I still think going for 2 there was dumb, just like I hated the failed 4th down attempt earlier in the game.

I am a very analytical person. I've dealt with analytics for most of my career in quality management. HOWEVER, I really hate how the NFL is overusing this in games!! I believe it is ruining the game!! Next thing we'll hear is that AI will take over everything in the NFL!! Now, excuse me while I get the people off my lawn!! LOL

Good Lord, Chip.

Did you miss the classes about variability?

You are just embarrassing yourself here.

Read the room? We just scored a TD. We should have been able to make the two but it didn't work out. If we had scored again, we would have had a chance to make that up.

This was not a controversial or dumb decision. This is just your combination of hindsight and poor statistical understanding that you are relying on.

This ain't some sports bar with loudmouths opining -- Folks here need to express informed decisions. I wish we had a minor league formum, because you are not ready to post with the adults.
They had struggled all night to score. And the prior 2 weeks when in the same position as what a 2-point conversion would be. In fact, they took more than 4 plays multiple times the previous 2 weeks and only scored because of defensive penalties, some of which were highly questionable.

You’re saying you expect them to score 3 times. The better option in my opinion was to put yourself in position to avoid a loss by only having to score 2 times and then take your chances in OT.

Either way, the defense has to prevent Tampa from scoring.

We can have a rational discussion, even disagreeing. What surprises me is your childish personal slander. I’ve seen you post for years and thought you are better than that. Guess I was wrong. Feel free to put me on ignore. I’ll still respond to your posts if I have an opinion.

And by the way, I did take probability and statistics in college. And 18 hours of post-grad applied mathematics. I fully understand the probabilities based in a statistical sampling of a large sample population.

But I also understand risk analysis. The what-if I don’t convert the 2-point. Probabilities say you’ll get it after the next TD. But what if that one is unsuccessful? You’ve now lost the game.
