Come on man.
No need to embarrass yourself.
When's the last time a top 5 or top 10 draft pick had to wait their turn. I can't think of any. Which is probably a reason why the Cowboys may look at a QB in the 2nd round.
Like having Goff of Lynch sit behind Tony for a year is some kind of detriment to the team.
What makes you think it's only one year?
Tony is about done. Even if he has 2 full years left, he will miss games and Lynch or Goff could win us games in his absence and eventually take his job like Osweiler is going to do with Peyton. Taking a QB is about having security for the next decade. Who cares if he has to sit behind romo and learn for a year or even 2?

Dez is not a problem. His teammates love him and the coaching staff loves him. He plays hard all of the time and when he was supposed to be out for 12 weeks with a broken foot...he came back in 6 weeks. We would be better off if Romo didn't get hurt, but we would be walking away with the division if both Romo and Dez didn't get hurt. Dez is that important to the team. And I really don't care if he went off on JJT. JJT was being completely unprofessional and maybe Rich Dalrymple should do his job and get eliminate the nonsense before it develops into a distraction.
What this team needs is a sense of direction towards building a team that can make the playoffs two years in a row. I think some pieces are in place in that we simply won't spend a lot of money on FA's or in re-signing players nearing 30 years old. That allows us to develop our own talent and to not get burned by big contracts to injury prone players. But we still seem to lack being good, year in and year out, at certain things like creating turnovers, having good safety play (I would just like 1 season of good safety play), being able to incorporate rookies on offense quickly, avoiding having 'pet cats', etc. It needs to be able to change things up to hide player weaknesses and exploit their strengths.
And we need to develop a defense that is not only good, but dependable. They don't have to be the reincarnation of the '85 Bears, but we need a defense that can create turnovers and show up, game in and game out. This defense at many times has been horrible playing at home. I have more trust in the defense on the road than I do at home. And that's just inexcusable.
To me, I think we tend to be a bit too late in defensive philosophies. I think the big lapse for us is still in what we are looking for in secondary personnel. We are still too much into man corners instead of finding corners that can play both man and zone and focusing more on safety talent since the safety position is asked to much more these days than in the past. I think the same goes with the MLB position. Better have a guy that can cover, that can get out to the perimeter and to take on the run when it's coming right at him. And there's just a terrible lack of team speed on defense overall.
We need a replacement for Romo in the future years, but until we solve this pass defense problem we're never going make the playoffs two years in a row.
YR
Romo and relying on his arm is the problem, not Dez. This season was over week one when We decided to let Romo shoulder the load. PERIOD! LESS ROMO IS MORE and unfortunately Garrett, both Joneses and fans haven't realized it. Yea, let'sjust ignore Romos pperformance week 1/and 2/and act like he was setting the world on fire. He wasn't, but excuse after excuse will be made that hes our only chance to with without acknowledging we barely won with him and were in every other game without him SANS NE.
As far as coaches, if Wade Wilson is the first to go after Jones gave them aN F for developing QBs, then we are hopeless and can't see our ttrue problems.
The Escobar situation is one of many where coaches are so dead set on a certain player, they are blinded by their lack of production. Witten still produces, but not at the same level, and he gets ZERO yards after catch. Escobar should be the target on 3rd downs, not Witten.
Yes, let's just go sign Sean Payton away from the Saints while he's still under contract and has said NUMEROUS times that he loves N.O. and has no desire to leave. Or better yet, let's just clean house 100%, just fire em ALL. We're easily better off with a fresh, new, INTELLIGENT coach over a doofus like Jason Garrett OBVIOUSLY, right?
Maybe we can bring in a retread like Jim Schwartz or Jim Mora Jr or better yet, how about a former SB WINNER like Cowher or Jon Gruden?! Why even stop there when there are so many up-and-coming OC's and DC's out there like Sean McDermott, Josh McDaniels, or Adam Gase, guys that will SURELY do what JG couldn't!!
Then again, maybe the experts (aka the fans) would instead prefer a young, talented HC from the college ranks, someone like A&M's Kevin Sumlin or Stanford head honcho David Shaw, among other talented NCAA HC's. The possibilities are truly endless and i'm sure each dude I listed could damn well turn into stellar NFL Head Coaches some day in the near future, ESPECIALLY Sumlin.
HOWEVA, I disagree with the notion that JG needs to be canned THIS year after the kind of injury-riddled, unbelievably snake-bitten season Garrett & co have been dealt with. Whenever you lose a bonafide superstar like Tony Romo who is now viewed as a top-5 NFL QB right behind A-Rod and Brady, your team WILL struggle.
That is simply the way today's NFL is built, squarely around the play of the QB so if you have a **** QB, you're probably **** outta luck. So when a team loses one of the best QB's in all of the NFL for most of the season, unless they have a SUPERB backup, I don't think you can really blame anyone but the Front office for not having a better, more adept backup QB on the roster.
The point i'm trying to make is that IMO, it is absolutely idiotic to blame JG for this season's disastrous performance and it's completely ABSURD to call for Garrett's firing! Sure, It's pretty damn ridiculous that we went 0-7 without Romo but that being said, many of those games came down to 2-3 plays at the end of the game and unfortunately we weren't able to play clutch football when it mattered most.
Quite frankly though, to blame JG for the 7 game losing streak and the bad breaks WITHOUT his starting, Mega-star QB is absolute garbage IMO and FIRING Garrett will do absolutely NOTHING but put this franchise back even MORE years. What we NEED to do (my opinion, obv), is draft Romo's heir apparent in the 1st or 2nd round and hope Romo stays healthy for another 1-3 years to give the rookie QB time to groom n prepare for LAR (Life After Romo).
Finally, draft and/or sign some big-time DTs and at least 2-3 talented starters in the secondary and i mean dudes who can start RIGHT away hecause Church and Wilcox need ta GO ******! Anywho, we fix these issues and BAM, We'll be RIGHT BACK to the high level we played at in '14 if not even higher and you can mark my damn words. I got faith in this group, especially our HEAD COACH, just hope we draft the RIGHT guy to groom behind Romo so we're good for the next 10 years...
vents, but this team has lost every game Romo has missed since
Yea, he may have some clunkers now and then but at least we have a chance with him in almost every game.........without him there is none.
If you don't believe me, watch the Commander game Monday......after the Skins put a boot in our arse come back and tell me Romo is the problem.
It aint an excuse bro, its called a fact............maybe you have not been keeping up with current events, but this team has lost every game Romo has missed since the stone age.

So only a RD1 QB can win Dallas games? Osweiler was drafted where?
Because you're going to pay him top 5 draft money to sit there for a year or two knowing he's going to get a contract a couple years later. You can maybe get away with this if the pick was say, 22nd. But if the pick was 3? That usually is a player that plays right away. That's why I asked when was the last time a top five draft pick sat behind to learn while he has a player ahead of him?
What makes you think it's only one year?
The problem with Dez is he can be taken out by CBs who use good technique. And thats inexcusable because the rules are in place for Wrs of his caliber to obliterate any kind of CB. Not on every play but there shouldnt be a reason the guy isnt getting 6-7 catches for 90-130 avg and a TD per game.
BUt i disagree about him going hard all the time. All the time he's the target. And im not saying everytime he's not the target he's dogging it. But a good portion of them plays he just goes thru the motions. Sometimes not even that
