Happy for the guy. He was probably another disappointing season from being out of the league altogether. He was able to stay healthy and post a very strong season and flip that into a nice contract. Best of luck to the guy.

Wow. I was thankful for what he did for us last season, but $6 mil/year? Pass and good luck to him.

If he comes back 100% healthy--which I believe he already is--and makes plays in camp like he did last year, Raymond Radway just found his roster spot. ;)

I suspected all along it would take 5mil a year to keep him, so 6mil isn't that far off. His chemistry with Romo and the fact that Austin and Dez seem to miss a fair bit of time led me to believe that 5 mil, it might be worth it. But obviously the cap situation has changed a bit in the last few days. That 5 mil is now tied up in this nonsense with the league, sacrifices have to be made.

I hope we can still work out something with him for cheaper but I just don't think we have the money.

cowboys need to just move on. don't even flirt with that price. he was a bust every year before last season. who knows if it was just a fluke.

Considering the amount of slot WR in the draft this year, losing Robinson won't hurt as much

I've a feeling we'll look at Joe Adams

Cowboys would be wise to sign a decent FA or draft someone at least in the middle rounds.

ouch! I love the guy, but I can't see us matching that for a 3rd WR. might be time to see if the Skins cut Moss.

Moss could be the better option and cheaper vs the cap to boot.

Meanwhile Robinson got duped, his career just ended. Oh well, at least he got PAID.

Good for him. That 11 TD effort seems to have paid big dividends for him.

Congrats LR!

I don't know what I find harder to understand........

All those how believed we had to sign him
All those who believed we could or would sign him
All those who believed we shouldn't have tagged Spencer

Let this be a lesson to all. FA is expensive!

When you have a perfect storm as we had in Robinson (great year and no possibility of locking up before the FA period) this is what you get.

We never had a realistic shot to retain him. Too much money and playing time committed to two players who are better than him.
He was going to be offered starters money and a starters role and that wasn't in the cards for him in Dallas.

How does this relate to Spencer? Thin OLB market + accomplished yet not spectacular player = Huge contract not worth matching.

Moss or Doucet would be pretty good to fill the #3 spot.

Oh I'm sure they will, and rightly so. But this guy had a roster spot until his injury last year, in my opinion.

Honestly, I'm hoping they look at someone like Eddie Royal who can not only play the slot, but has started some and is a good return guy as well. I'm in VA, and his play at Tech was exceptional even when he didn't have the best QB play. He also has a connection to Orton from Denver, so there's a potential connection to get him in the building.

Just sayin'...

$6 Mil.? Big money. Good for Laurent. Tall number for us to pay, though.

He did us proud last year and I can't blame him for taking the money if the Cowboys can't/won't match the offer. Best of luck, LR.

Wow! Good for him. I would have loved to keep him around, but not for that price. He's good, but obviously benefitted from Romo.

My feeling is they'll pick up a vet WR for the slot in free agency, but really focus on the development of guys like Raymond Radway and Andre Holmes. I hope Dwayne Harris can earn some snaps on offense as well, as he was drafted with that slot position in mind, but I'm not too hopeful for his future.

He should give Romo half of whatever he gets.
