Use to work up in North Dallas. We use to eat at Gloria's off of Dallas Parkway and I think Trinity Mills every now and then.

Also, we use to eat at Cici's Pizza alot, which I think is right near the intersection of Trinity Mills and Midway.

Also, if you ever come to Downtown Dallas (where I work), you should definately check out a restaurant called Mia's. It is off the corner of Lemon and Wycliff, which was one of Landry's favorite restaurants.

It was also where Jerry took Jimmy, when he was hiring him as coach. He thought he was hiding Jimmy from the public, but little did they know that it was basically a shrine to Landry :).

Amen to Mia's... if you are in the downtown area you may want to try Bob's Steak and Chop House...

The Flying Saucer in Addison is a cool place...

Closest Casino is Bossier City, LA. Its 2.5 hours away from DFW.
Check out Cuba Libre for a great bar.

Try www.guidelive.com

Addison has a BJ's which is a restaurant/brewhouse. Get the 7 buck sampler of 7 different brews. The Stout and the Hefeweizen are both excellent. All of them are good. Fish and Chips or the calzoen are good food options. Stick to the simple sports bar type stuff.

A fun place to go if you want novelty is

There's a place called Lakewood Landing on Live Oak Drive that is good. Look it up online and map it before you leave...you won't be disappointed. Great suds and nice menu, not to mention good service.

flying saucer is in addison and has like a couple of hundred beers on tap all over the bar wall. it really depends on what you're looking for in a bar. sherlocks is pretty new to addison and also a pretty good bar.

deep ellum - these days it's not the safest place to go to, esp. early in the am. no one really bothers me, but not many go after the 6'4" 300lbs+ people right off the bat. downtown dallas? west end is usually always good and if you're visiting, probably more what you'd want to see than deep ellum.

there's an aquariam somewhere around downtown i've heard is pretty cool but if you want a zoo, take the truck driver haul to the ft. worth zoo. stockyards are out there too if you need to scream a good E-HA or anything.

studios of las colinas has a tour of their movie facilities that's actually worth the time to go see if it you're at all interested in it. it's not hollywood or anything, but hunt for red october, robocop, some steve martin preacher movie was filmed there and many national artists record in their studios as well.

back to addison - pretty much stay between the tollway and midway on belt-line and sooner or later you'll find something cool to do. if you're up for a "house of beef" fun, fogo de chou is a brazillian steak house that brings skewers of beef to your plate and as long as you can eat, they'll keep it coming. $60+ for dinner though w/o alcohol...but the food and service is about the best i've ever had anywhere.

there's a comedy club on the south side of belt-line a few blocks west of the tollway. you can go north on the tollway from there and see a lot more resturaunts, but not many more clubs.

it's sometimes fun to go to the top of reunion, but if you eat there, it ain't cheap.

if you've not seen AAC yes, or ameriquest field, it could be cool just to drive around and check out all the stadiums and then look at texas stadium and go "man, what a sh-hole". don't feel bad - it really does need to be replaced.

summer is finally kicking in - wet-n-wild is always good w/6 flags across the street. if you see the dancing old man, hit him. he's very annoying.

the addison area is very popular and you'll find some good bars and food there - it just depends on what you're hungry for. 2-3 seafood, 2-3 japanese/chinese, 2 house of beefs (go fogo if you go) and many things like a joes crab shack, micro-brewery, and several other good places. for just food, go north on the tollway from there and just stick on the access road. many more places to eat. if you get to the 2nd tollbooth, you've got a razoos, abuelos, some other steak house i can't remember now and an AMC theater that's always packed.

have fun!

Hahaha, I was trying to think of the name of that place. I have only been to Carson's once, but that place was great. Live band and lot's of eye candy. It gets really packed though.

If you like the knights; horse and falcon demonstrations then it is fun. The show is entertaining and of course the knight with the loudest section wins so you have to get rowdy the only exception I have heard of was a wedding party but hey if they are paying out that type of dough I understand lol.

The food is good (not great) and the atmosphere is really fun.

My family loves the place and my son who was 5 when they went to the one in Orlando loved it so kids tend to enjoy the festivities.

The time I went my section was the loudest so we won the contest and had the honor of our knight to defend the kingdom vs the black night.

All in all just a good time and fun.

Depends on what you want to do, if you want a fun cheap dinner and evening....

hit Snuffers (snuffers.com) on Midway in Addison for dinner and beer. It's a burger joint with the best cheese fries in the world! After that you can head over to the Flying Saucer (beerknurd.com) on Montfort. They have every beer in the book.

If you want a more expensive dinner, hit Texas De Brazil on Addison Road. Sambuca is a great place for dinner and live Jazz, it's on Addison Road. But make reservations. Carsons Palace is a fun place on the tollway (if it's still open, their site is all messed up). It should be. There are some other nice place in the Downtown Addison circle if you are looking for a slice of pizza or something. There is tons to do down there.
