For all the comparisons to Jack Nicklaus- show me him winning a US open on a broken leg.

Ben Hogan won a US Open just a few months after he nearly died in a wreck with a bus outside El Paso... he threw himself across his wife when the bus appeared out of the fog, and that saved his life, but his legs were pretty much "crushed"...

And back in 1964, Ken Venturi won the Open at Congressional in DC, playing the final 36 on Sunday in 100 degree plus heat, battling heat stroke...

Tiger's not the first to win a major while hurting...

I'll also note that many years ago, I predicted that Tiger would have problems with his left knee, with the violent action of his lower body in the course of a swing... he puts a LOT of torque on that knee, and before his career is over, he's gonna have to address that... either that, or this will not be his last hiatus as he recovers from knee surgery...

They won't care...

But the media will (which was what I was trying to refer to)

I would love to know Tomson what made you think Tiger would fake something like that anyway? Just your natural hatred of him, or that you think all sports stars will do that, or your general cynicism about people?

Talk out of your *** more...please.

If you care to look at my posts on the forum you'll clearly see that I'm no cynic. Tiger Woods isn't the saint most people make him out to be, and it was pretty obvious that he was wincing more on his poor shots than on his good ones...or his numerous celebrations during the tournament. Whether it was adrenaline or the possibility that he hit bad shots because of something bothering his knee....it isn't out of the realm of possibility to question the guy...and lets face it, he plays the injury card and he gets an out if he losses, and it makes a victory that much more dramatic. It's a win win situation for him. I don't hate the guy, I hate the know nothing golf "fans"...the 44% of the populous that will no longer watch any more golf in 2008. There is more to the sport than one man.

That being said, I admitted I was wrong, and it's clear that the injury is real...so this is a moot point.

"pretty obvious that he was wincing more on poor shots"
etc
Yeah you really do not like him at all. Why is that?
To think he would fake something like that is pretty extreme though
you try and make light of it NOW.

I'm not making light of anything. I'm not the only one that noticed his displays, either. Check the link I posted earlier in this thread.

...and who says I have to like the guy. You're right, I don't like him. I think he's pretty much a ****head....but I do respect his game. Sorry if that upsets you and the rest of his minions.

Minions.
Typical response for someone with no response to start getting personal.

That link proved nothing except that there are more idiots out there and we already knew that.

Try finding a source with some credibility before you start talking about faking injuries, etc from someone who has a history of tremendous competiveness. I guess that little bit of logic passed you by, right?

A source with some credibility? Your calling ME an idiot, and you don't think that a professional golfer is a credible source for a professional golf story? Wow.

...but you've been beaten around this forum enough as it is, so I'll refrain from continuing this topic. I'm done burm...you win.

How the hell do you get injured playing golf? Golf has never been a sport to me just a game. Theres as much physicality in golf as there is in playing poker. In my mind Tiger is the most overrrated "athlete" ever. Did he get injured falling off the golf cart or something.

Well, I managed to separate my shoulder at 19 playing golf... had to totally rebuild my golf swing after that, to take some stress off the shoulder...

So, you've never broken 120 on the course in your life??

Yeah, any old ya-hoo can hit a 350 yard tee shot... there's no skill in that at all...

The cliched nonsense you're talkin' here just shows that you've never played the game with an sort of proficiency; if you had, you'd know that it takes great skill to play the game well... it takes strength to hit the ball a long way, but it also takes the touch of a surgeon around the greens...

I have played it. That is why I don't consider it a sport. To me it's just a game. I never understood how americans can hate soccer but for some reason think golf is exciting. BTW I've hit 300 yard tee shots so I guess thats close enough.
