I switched to Geico years ago. They have excellent customer service and are cheaper than most. We lost our SUV in Harvey and within three weeks, we had a check in our hands

Chances are your coverage is less $$$ liability.
I actually don’t remember the specifics. It’s been years since I researched it.

Something like ... you only have $100,000 or $200,000 liability? Instead of 500,000 or one million?

Summary: you pay less because they give you less.

Any thoughts? Something safe? I'm thinking a Chevy Colorado or Honda Civic.
What's that other model that Honda produced? The Accord? I think that's the kind of car some of my friends said their teenage girls were wanting,,, or maybe it was the 'prelude',,I can't remember, pretty sure it wasn't the civic though, those things were like a roller skate when they first were imported.

I sold my corv

Good to know. I've been with State farm since 84. They are pretty pricey. Might be time to shop around.
I know, I'd had State Farm for years, carried liability on two 4x4's( drive one a week or two, then switch) and full coverage on the '29', I didn't like the deal they quoted me for the Harley and picked it up elsewhere,,, I fired them about 6-8 months ago.

I wouldn't recommend one of those with the stick shift and dirty engines......lol

The new clean ones that have the flower holder and eyelashes are what I was thinking of
Whew!!! the First Craig's list room for rent I'd rented up north a couple years ago, that wide hipped gal I'd stayed with had one of those mini Cooper's with those eyelashes on the headlights,,, reading yer' post gave me an instant headache, dredging that upo_O

I am in the same boat also. I am in the process of looking for a car for my twin teenage daughters after my daughter was in accident. We bought them a used Subaru Legacy and it got hit by a GMC Denali. The Denali was going so fast that the collision bent the frame of the Subaru but the airbags were not deployed and both my daughters walked away without a scratch. Unfortunately the car was total. My first priority is safety than reliability. Subarus have high safety ratings with good reliability but they are hard to find used. Also I would make sure you have an umbrella insurance. It protects you against any law suits that might happen if your daughter is the cause of the accident. Liability only covers so much. A million dollar policy only cost about $300 a year.

I got a new prelude when they came out... 1995? Nice when new but you would have to research how wel they stood the test of time?

Gosh, man it was probably around 05,or 07 when my dudes were talking about what their baby girls wanted,,,now that I'm thinking about it Adam's daughter wanted a Volkswagen 'jetta' & Ramon's girl wanted the Honda,,, how'd that new prelude work out for you? Did you trade it in while it still had pretty good trade-in value, like a lot of guys do, or did you keep it and drive every dimes worth out of it like I do?o_O
