Good for Colombo

thought I would share this. Found it posted on Twitter posted by Jane Slater

Travis Frederick just told @BenRogers on @1053thefan that Marc Columbo has him on a coaches headset now helping him and Hudson Houck. That’s a smart move from Columbo. Smartest guy on the line

Yes, Zeke said Frederick is the smartest guy on the team.

That was already somewhat obvious considering his Engineering Degree but it's cool to hear Zeke say it.

Looney has played better than expected but other players have missed Frederick's line calls. I think some of Tyron's issues have been related to not having Frederick there to make adjustments.

Funny how Colombo is so well thought of now. In the offseason when it was learned that Colombo was interviewing for the O-Line coaching job this site lit up with fans talking about how ridiculous it was to have him as a candidate.

I think fans took it favorably. Plus they gave him an assistant position instead.

I don't think anyone had a problem with him being an assistant, but at the time a lot were very vocal about their opposition to the idea of him holding the position that he holds now. I actually got it to a point - more experience and a track record always makes for a more comfortable hire, but his history as a player and as a person known to get the most from his talents was attractive as well, so I didn't quite get the total negativity and vitriol some showed.
