You can see 4 hands on the ball. 2 are Tates and 2 are Jennings. Neither appears to have clear control. The call was not as bad as everyone is saying.

It's about who gets possession first not if at some point the offensive player is able to get his hands in after the ball was caught in the air and they have been on the ground.

Show me the shot where Jennings first catches the ball.

Something like this where you can see while Tate is trying to get to the ball, he doesn't even remotely have it.

Note that they are still in the air.

If those arent Tates hands on the ball, whose are they? Those hands appear to be connected to his arms.

Exactly! :banghead:

Tate's left hand is on the ball the whole time. That is why Jennings is never able to wrestle it away.

All I see is Tate's hand grabbing Jenning's arm attached to his own hand which has the ball between both hands. I love the one handed catch from the unseen hand theory though.

That is WELL after the "initial" catch. Not a "Good" picture.

In that picture Tate's(#81) right hand is not on the ball.

Are you being serious, WPB? Good grief man, should we bring in John Madden to break it down for you?

Get out the crayons and draw a line.. Tate's right arm is connected to his right hand, which is grabbing Jenkins arm in this picture CLEARLY.

That is not possession, my friend. Honestly, its been looked at by Jon Gruden, Steve Young, Trent Dilfer, numerous other ex players and ex coaches at multiple angles, over and over again.. and they all say it was Jennings ball. Lets save the conspiracy theories, eh? Geeze..

That right hand of Tates is on Jennings right arm.

You can still see the ref off in the background. It's just as they hit the ground and they both have 2 hands on the ball. Tate didn't just somehow reach his hand in there. It was there the whole time.

Tate put a second hand on it after he hit the ground. That picture is remarkably deceptive.

Jennings has two hands on the ball, Tate is grabbing Jennings elbow with his right hand and his left hand is underneath the ball.

It's not even debatable. Dual possession involves both players possessing the bll at roughly the same moment. Everyone was on the ground before tate had more than one hand touching the ball, let alone possessing it.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how the whole world can see one thing. Yet, there are two people on this board who see something totally different. Every persons perception is their reality.

There are more than two. The rest of us just don't find it interesting enough to debate in this much detail.

Tates right finger tips are on the ball. I don't think that constitutes possession. He doesn't have his fingers or his hand around the ball. And his left hand appears to be in an awkward position. If you took Jennings out of the picture and kept Tates arms, hands and fingers all in the same position he would still be struggling to fully control the ball whereas Jennings has full control by the position of his appendages.
