Good shot of the dual possession

The point of that story is that the emperor is the sole buffoon that doesn't notice the obvious.

I have a feeling thats why he posted that comment - about you fellas. :lmao2:

Of course, there never should have been any catch whatsoever due to the offensive PI that was not called.

He posted it because he didn't understand the story.

Much like he doesn't understand what he's seeing here.. even though everyone else does. Its actually pretty fitting.. irony is fun.

You really are thick aren't you. YOU don't understand the story at all and accuse me of being a buffoon. Everyone on TV is saying it's the WORST CALL of all time and even after being shown multiple camera angles and photos you refuse to believe what your eyes see. You would rather keep up the pretense than admit what even a child(me) can see. The call wasn't wrong. Tate had his hand on the ball first or at worst at the same time and had it throughout the entire play. Yes his right hand was knocked off by Jennings, but Jennings didn't keep both hands on the ball the whole time either. So keep throwing insults instead of proof.

:laugh2:

Tell that to the Seattle Seahawks players who admitted they didn't win that game.

But of course.. you know more than them, and other players, and other coaches and other referees.. all who have been around the game their entire lives.

Because.. you're a kid. You know much more than all those guys. lol

Why are you taking it so personal? You have added nothing to the thread except trying to hurl insults. We get it old man(your avatar is perfect for you BTW-"get off my lawn you damn kids"), you think it was a bad call. Why can't you let it go? You're obsessed with getting the last word. Is that your thing?? Try not to respond, I bet you can't.

You don't know who the guy in my avatar is?

That's it.. ignore list for you. For shame..

I knew you couldn't resist and I know who Judge Smails is. I just assumed you were a cranky old man and not some immature 20 something. Obviously you consider yourself as Kinda A Big Deal around here, so I'll defer to your awesomeness.

If those arent Tates hands on the ball, whose are they? Those hands appear to be connected to his arms.

Tate's right hand is quite clearly on the arm of Jennings and no where near being on the ball, let alone possessing it.

His left hand appears to be under the ball which also doesn't make a real good case for his possessing the ball.

Especially when the defender clearly has both hands on it.

There is a great picture earlier in this thread that shows that you're wrong. He didn't have his hands on it first or at the same time. His right hand was on the arm of the defender, no where near touching the ball, at the exact time that the defender clearly has both hands on the ball.

I think you might need to open your eyes a little more and believe them a little bit more before you start accusing others of not being able to see.

One hand catches happen all the time in the NFL. There is nothing that says 2 hands are required. Tate got there first or worst at the SAME time as Jennings. At some point Tate's right hand comes off(so does Jennings, but I guess that doesn't matter), but that's irrelevant. His left hand never comes off and Tate maintains control until they hit the ground. I just find it funny that replacement refs got it right, but ultimately it was this call that ended the lockout.

You're seriously trying to use those two catches to back up possession from Monday night? Come on now.

Really? This is a joke right?

First off Tate never even has a full hand on the ball while its in the air, and that's clear from even the pictures you've posted. He might have some finger tips from his left hand on the bottom of the ball but finger tips touching the ball is not possession and certainly nothing anywhere near the two shots you're passing off as some sort of attempt to make it look like you're not wrong.

I'm not bagging on the replacement refs here either. I personally don't think they did any worse than the real refs who've blown calls that cost teams games as well.

But that call Monday night was terrible.

What the hell?

You're still going on with them getting the right call.

At some point people need to stop dissecting the rulebook looking for some tangential means of applying a rule to some distant example.

Anyone who looks at that play and says it was the right call is at best a total brain dead fool or at worse just dishonest as all hell for some unknown reason.

I really don't know why all you guys are getting your panties in a bunch about a thread on, wait for it, a football message board. I merely stated at the beginning that the call wasn't even as remotely as bad as everyone was making it out to be and provided visual evidence to support that claim. Most of you football gods don't agree with me, so what. Either provide something besides your unquestioned opinion or ignore the thread.

Either way, Tate made enough of a play on the ball, one handed or not, equal to what Austin did against the Jets or better, to get the TD. So sorry if the most controversial call of the year held my interest for more than a couple days. I know that there are hundreds of other OL threads that need to be started.
