Why 27? Why not 26, 28 or 29?

Seems like a very unique reasoning.

Also, if you want to truly rebuild and get better in 2-4 years get ready to say bye to the players that’ll actually net you a return. Martin, Parsons, Diggs, Lamb etc…

That’s about the age that means you are likely on your last big contract in the NFL. Most players don’t play till they are 35, unless they are a special teams player. If the team does not provide signs (like a championship game appearance) by that time then all bets are off for players of that age. If you are within 5 years of building around a QB, then yeah hold on to them while making decisions about the QB/team potential. This QB/team has passed enough time that I see this as the final postseason to show potential to reach the next threshold (especially considering the other challengers).

At our best, we would beat any team at their best. But we never seem to be able to muster our best against the Bradys and Rodgers. The Brady who played the last 6 minutes Monday night is still the same as ever. 75 years old or not.

I don’t know about same as ever. He struggles with early pressure just like all QB’s. The real pressure would be on the offense to actually perform like a top offense against Tampa instead of the catastrophe of the opening game.

I’d argue the most talented teams win for the most part.

The Eagles and 49ers are the most talented rosters in the NFC. No surprise they are the 2 favorites.

Dallas is close but not there yet IMO. We can make a run but will need a little luck and for those teams to slip up and underperform.

Dallas is more talented than the 49ers.

Cincinnati seems to have gotten much better after some recent top picks, so I guess it does work. San Francisco got much better after top picks used on defense. Philadelphia basically threw a game for a better draft spot, got rid of their starting QB and ate a huge chunk of salary, stockpiled 1st round picks and seems to be heading in the right direction. So there’s that…

they sucked so bad they got the number 1 pick in a year that a generational qb was actually available. then he went out for the year and they got to complement him with top 5 draft talent. the 9ers are a weird team. they've been predominantly bad over the past 7 years and got a good deal of draft capital out of it. Bosa has really been the engine. Micah is better and we got him without sucking too hard.

I actually think they both have similar impact on defense. Both elite players. I prefer Micah simply because he’s a Cowboy.

yeah, I prefer him because he is more versatile. But even if you prefer Bosa, or it's a wash, the point was we got a similar guy without having to suck to those depths.

True, but those type of guys typically go in the first 5-7 picks. Parsons did not play edge in college, but they were planning on using him more there and then the pandemic happened. That was a bizarre draft because of the number of players who had sat out the previous season. The Cowboys wanted a cornerback-and had to “settle” for Parsons. If the league had any idea what Parsons would be as a pass rusher-he never makes it to the Cowboys. Odd things will happen and you can find really good players throughout the draft, but most dynamic elite players go at the top of the first round (it’s statistical fact).

My general point is that you can figure out ways to gather more first round picks and trade them for future first rounders and other picks, or straight up for a player you want/need. Philadelphia is going to likely get a good pick in the upcoming draft just from New Orleans. They likely will try to trade back for yet more future picks. They could make a move for a QB if they feel like Hurts won’t get them over the top. They have shown that they are more than willing to move a player that was supposed to be a cornerstone piece-if it means a better chance in the future.
