Why would a girl that wants no attention be in the VIP room of a club with pro athletes?

You missed the point completely. Of course she probably wanted to hang out with pro athletes - they party hard, have a good time, and if you're a cute girl you get your drinks for free.

Just because you go hang out in the VIP with pro athletes doesn't mean you're looking to have sex with any of them. Plenty of times I've been to clubs and partied with friends in VIP, and we were there explicitly with the task of having a good time, not attempting to scheme on girls that were total strangers EVEN IF those girls were falling over themselves drunk.

There are certain standards you should hold yourself to as a man - one of those standards is not to attempt to take advantage of a woman in a disadvantageous situation.

Nope ...... but he has reprimanded others when they were only accused if they had a prior history.

Ben has a history of embarrassing the league. But I guarantee nothing will happen to him because of his status.

Do you have an example?

I was kind of wondering that myself. Not really sure about Ben's history but I doubt it would rank up there with the example.

For the record, I think Ben is guilty. There's a lot of things that look really bad for him. I guess the bar owner has now come out and acknowledged the fact that an acquaintance of the victim approached him about the victim possibly being in the bathroom with Ben and one of Ben's friends blocking the door.

I was listening to Rome a while back and he said he thought Ben has some serious problems when he hired the attorney he did. I guess this attorney is a monster in the courtroom. Rome had a lawyer on there who said that this attorney is probably one of the top 5 attorneys he has every seen.

Yeah, the attorney is Ed Garland. The same guy that defended Ray Lewis.

I hate the steelers but this case really cuts me several ways. Yeah pro athletes feel entitled (they got that way by getting special treatment many times starting in Grade School). So someone saying no, especially if the athlete has already had a couple, many times will not get a good reaction. And its very true there are girls out there looking to make money on false or carefully constructed situations. And there are a fair number of pro athletes that are thugs.
From everything I have heard Rothsie likes to hit frat parties and places where there are college age girls and lots of booze. THAT is NOT a good behavior pattern. Young people and booze pretty much guarantee there will be problems of one sort or another. Many 18-22 year olds, male and female, feel immortal and bulletproof. Bad combination when adding booze. Rothsie from many reports continually goes into those situations.

"I am concerned that Ben continues to put himself in this position.[/BQUOTE]

This comment continues to **** me off. If any one were to say that "The girl put herself in that situation" there would be a huge outcry that "No means No", etc (which is correct.) It escapes me how many people can jump on the bandwagon and want to lynch him over "Continuing to put himself in these situations". I'm not saying Roetlisberger is smart (he seems to consistantly prove the contrary) but no one in the NFL should be able to punish him for doing something that he is legally entitled to do, whether it be at clubs, go to a strip club, etc.

There is something else here that I find to be much more troubling than him going to clubs, etc. Lets suppose he had "sex" with this lady in a strip club ..... it is entirely possible that he has violated a totally different law that no one else seems to be discussing (depending upon the laws in that jurisdiction) .... which might be some sort of indecent exposure in a public place. Usually the exposure involves some element of "for sexual gratification" which doesn't normally exist in a public bathroom setting ...... but if he had sex with her .... then that obviously would satisfy the "for sexual gratification" element of the crime. But she would probably also be guilty of the same crime, if it was only sex, not rape.

Was it a strip club? I guess I missed that fact. I thought it was just a club.

Wow. I stroke of common sense and sensibility.
