Ted Wells doesnt care if its stalled? Thats funny stuff man. Of course he cares. If he didnt care he wouldnt have been hired to do this "independent" investigation. He's simply doing this investigation the way he has been instructed to do it.

Ted Wells is a lawyer hired to investigate this whole thing and report to the league (with that report being released publicly). He has no reason to care about the public relations fallout from his report. He has no reason to delay his report for any specific period of time.

He took 13 weeks to report on the Incognito controversy. There is zero evidence whatsoever to indicate that his investigation is unduly influenced by the league.

Now Im sure you've convinced yourself that its truly a real INDEPENDENT investigation, but some of us have been watching Goodell long enuff to know better.

Looks like someone knows the Patriots are going to be exonerated!!! Good job laying the groundwork for your future excuse making.

FACT: Roger Goodell very quietly admitted something on Monday that I've been telling y'all for about 5 weeks now: The Wells investigation is including looking into the actions of the league office itself. The investigation has moved beyond merely looking at the Patriots. (This was a very big admission which the media conveniently ignored).

Goodell uses the phrase that Wells is investigating "what we knew and when we knew it" but what's really happening is they are looking into the actions of the individual Grigson spoke to at the NFL Offices. Those of us in the know have no doubt who that individual is but since there's nothing official, I'll leave it to y'all to make your own deductions.

We're supposed to believe that improperly inflated footballs is nothing short of a headline grabbing, end of the world, extinction level event. And yet when presented with accusations (prior to the AFCCG) that the Patriots were tampering with their footballs, this unnamed individual in the league office didn't even bother to tell the commissioner. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm......... wonder why that is.........

Just out of idle curiosity, what will you think if the Wells Report says the Patriots did nothing wrong? Will you still feel they should be punished, or will you admit the whole thing was overblown by the haters to the point where it actually became an unfair distraction for a team preparing for the Super Bowl?

I will take the Wells report at face value. At the moment I just think the Patriots are dirty as sin. I can be convinced otherwise.

Tough to say because it is tough to predict what the ridiculously incompetent, inept people in the NFL commissioner's office will do. If I had to make a prediction on that, I'd say there's no evidence of the Patriots deliberately deflating balls and therefore there will be no punishment. However, the moron commissioner may feel he has to do *something* to justify this whole farce.

There is absolutely no reason to believe that the NFL is interfering with the independent investigation or that the independent investigation will withhold the truth from the public.

Even though you'll never admit it, you know the Patriots are not-guilty and you know the investigation is going to find no deliberate wrong doing on their part. So you're already making your preemptive excuses by somehow taking a 10+ week independent investigation and calling it a "cover up."

Because nothing says "cover up" like an independent investigator taking about 3 months to look into things!! Talk about great laughs in the NFL Zone forum!!
