There's never been a war on drugs. If there were special forces would be assassinating drug lords and Columbian jungles would be on fire.

Pablo Escobar called, he disagrees. Ha kidding!
"War on drugs" would be totally unneeded were it not for the overwhelming demand we maintain.

But getting back to the OP, maybe Gregory should sue Goodell and claim he has to smoke the J to deal with the head trauma and other injuries pro football has caused him. That might at least be an interesting public debate.

We dont actually know if all these alleged suspensions are for weed. The NFL normally doesnt say why other than that its under the substance abuse policy.

Its standard procedure for many agents who's clients are caught with PEDs to pass it off as a minor recreational drug thing.

The OP is speaking in code. People say ghetto when they really mean something else.

It is also clearly assuming players suspended for conduct violations come from the "ghetto." Why would you make that assumption? Gee could it be because of how they look?

Let's look at some recent conduct suspensions.

The last was Derrick Coleman - he's from LA area suburbs (he's also a noted devout Christian).

Manny Lawson - dad was on the military, grew up as a multisport athlete, noted leader in college. From Goldsboro, NC - Andy Freaking Griffith lived there. Doesn't sound like a "ghetto" to me.

Prince Shembo - from the same town!

These kids aren't from the ghetto, yet the OP must be assuming they are because of how they look

I like you personally as a poster, and I like your posts. But I also think you are looking for something to get offended over, or are offended far too easily if that post got to you.

I'm not sure about that Locimus. I'll grant you that when they brought the Terminator Goodell online that they wanted him hunting and raping and pillaging and burning (just kidding) suspending players more harshly. They got that out of him.

But the owners always have one finger in the air and are backing off of their hardline stance. NFL celebrations penalties are one example of that in action.

I sense that the winds are starting to change on this and more and more people (and posters here) are jumping on the Goodell is punishing too harshly, frequently, and for nothing school of thought bandwagon.

No. I was pointless out how some posters have assumptions about player's backgrounds that are wrong.

I do find it offensive to assume all black folks come from the ghetto though. It is an ignorant (at best) default view

He did not say that anywhere in his post.

He did not say that anywhere in his post.

He did what in politics is called "dog whistling" - the meaning is obvious and clear without saying specific words that would get him in trouble.

Not when the person investigating is a Giants fan. The amount of time is for them to eventually find something that they can hang a suspension on and nothing more. Brown had 20 DV calls to the police against him and the NFL provided his wife security at the Pro Bowl and they took a less than a week to investigate and give him a 1 game suspension.

Anything that hurts the Giants goes away fast, anything that helps them drags on and on.
That's a little too tinfoil hat-ish for my taste. Suspending a big name or even a no-name NFL player based on zero evidence of wrong doing would be an absolute PR disaster for the NFL.

Seriously. Imagine, someone working for the NFL is an NFL fan. We've had this discussion before - a highly qualified individual who has served in numerous roles requiring objectivity - yet she can't be objective because she loves the Giants?

Yeah her freaking hobby makes 30 some years years of work in sex crimes and domestic violence moot.

Folks got to get a grip. Some people do important work and can separate that from a sports team they like. Most wouldn't even put it on the same level. Sad that some folks have jobs that are so meaningless that they'd think different.
