I disagree with the assertion, too, but 6-10 and 13th place in the conference is not "almost making the playoffs".

So let me get this straight....we cut our 3rd WR and two overpaid overage OL and we are rebuilding?

We cut dead weight thats all. Sure we needed the cap space but in reality we probably could of just restructured a few contracts and still got under the cap.

The production of these players cut didnt meet their salaries....plain a simple. We drafted a OT in the first round....so Columbo lost his job. Biggs and Roy were overpaid. Dez replaced Roy last year....all we need now is a RG

The DL will be ok IMHO.....and we will probably sign a vet safety.

The key componets to this team are still here.....Romo...Witten...Dez..Austin...Free...Ware...Spencer....Rat...Jenkins...Newman...James.

We were favored to make the playoffs last year & make a superbowl run. The wheels fell off the wagon thanks to Wade.

But we have the core players that beat Eagles back to back games 2 seasons ago and won a playoff game. I dont believe we are far off from making a serious run. We were better then 6-10 and what we showed last season.

Yea, we have some holes that hopefully Jerry can fix in free agency. I think the biggest question mark with this team is Garret. Im not sold on him.

How different is the average 11-5 team from the average 7-9 team, really? Typically the difference is slim - and in terms of "goodness" or "badness", if you assumed we were playing a million games, I think it's fair to say that we often see 7-9 teams that are actually a good bit better than 11-5 teams in the same year. It goes both ways - when we've had terrific seasons, it's possible that we weren't as good as we thought, and when we've had lousy ones, we may not have been as bad.

For my part, I don't think the "talent" argument for the Cowboys is an illusion. With the exception of the defensive backfield, I'd put every unit on our team in the top half of the league. If you can say that, you are not "rebuilding."

I remember 2 seasons ago when this guy said we'd finish 4th in the division and Emmitt said we'd win 7 games.

Of course we went on to win 10 games along with a playoff game, nobody expected us to go 13-3 in Wade's 1st year either(well besides me and a few others). As long as we're healthy we'll always be a strong contender.

Also it's funny how he had us in the SB last season, now it's a rebuilding year. Ok Goose, Lol.

Rick is right. you can not keep coming back with the same people and expect a new result. it is going to be another long year.
