Here's a few tidbits:

Dallas will take either J.J. Watt or Tyron Smith at #9, he thinks they have Smith rated slightly higher on their board.

Gabbert won't go in the top 10, he predicts #12 to Minny.

He's hearing Fairley and Peterson could slide.

hope he's right on smith, good news.
I would imagine that cos of this info he has smith to the boys in his last mock to be released tomorrow night/thursday morning.

Seems like a lot of smokescreens being laid to cover for the fact we will take T Smith at 9 when in all probability he would be there anyway.

yea i have a feeling smith or some OT will go before we pick at 9.
Call it a draft day suprise.

I also think if fairley is there at 9 we will be pretty tempted to take him. I think he is the DE (in our system) i think jerry might have been talking about.

Also, saw Mayock say he would 'bang the table' for Gilchrist as a FS or CB and a couple other DBs in the second or later.

Would be a good fit here in Dallas.

I hope if not peterson we stay put at 9 and take Smith

me 2. PP first Smith second. if we want a OT lets take the best one

BB thinks they are down to 4 names as well. Smith, Costanzo, Watt and Jordan

I don't see PP falling. Not to 9 anyway.

Peterson doesn't get past #7 no matter what happens.

I'm waiting on Goose's final mock draft. He is pretty accurate. sometimes what he says during the season, or any other time can seem way off. But yet it usually turns out there is some truth about it. However, He is one of the best with his draft coverage.

If Goose thinks the Cowboys have Smith rated a little higher than Watt as noted above, then I suspect he will have Smith as the selection in his final mock.

Does anybody know when his final mock and top 100 will be out? His top 100 came out just about 2 days before the draft last year, and we are now less than 2 days till this one. I am very eager! :)

If I'm remembering correctly from last year, I think the top 100 should be out late tonight or early tomorrow and the final mock out late Wednesday or early Thursday.

You know...I've been saying all along that it's not too far-fetched to see Peterson fall to us at nine.

The fact that there was no FA has really made this draft unique. Teams will be desperate to fill holes...especially at QB.

Look at this:
Carolina: Newton
Denver: Dareus
Buffalo: Miller
Cinnci: Green
Arizona: Gabbert (I know most signs point to defense, but teams get stupid about QBs)
Cleveland: Jones (PP is a great possibility here, but the Browns need a WR and may be worried about teams trading up to get him)
San Fran: Quinn: Reports are they would jump all over PP, but pass rushers are usually higher priority. Plus, they are reportedly one of the teams trying to trade down. They may be a target for the Pats.
Tennessee If they go with BPA, then PP could be drafted here. But there really have been no reports connecting PP with them. I think they are a team that will need to draft a QB...if reports are accurate, they could shake round one big time....Dalton
Dallas Again, this would be a dream come true. But I really don't think it's as improbable as some think. Patrick Peterson

Now, I don't pretend to know what other teams think. But I have seen stranger things happen. Peterson may be the best "Football Player" in the draft. But there are legitimate questions about what position he'll play in the NFL. This could cause a slide...albeit a small one. But even a small slide could get him to us.

Personally, I don't see this scenario playing out. I think we'll see two or three teams trade out of the top ten.

Anyway, food for thought.

Even though I know it's a need I just can't get excited over an OL being taken with a very high 1st pick. I'm sure you guys are right but there is nothing that makes me excited about that.

If they could get Peterson though..that would be wonderful. I don't see that happening though.

My son is nine years old. We sit and talk about the Cowboys past and present. I have a DVR recording of the 1995 NFC Championship game vs Green Bay that NFLN showed a few years ago. We watched that game together last Friday.

If you watch that....and see how our OL dominated a Packer D led by Reggie White, then you might change your mind.

I know I love the idea of getting a dominating OL again.

Oh I know it's a huge need. I'd be doing cartwheels to get Peterson (and in traction the next day) and I'll be MEH if they draft Smith. Actually I don't even watch the draft. I will just see on here who they get.

Yeah, I know you know it's a HUGE need.

But I needed a reminder of how awesome it was to have a great line. I wasn't try to patronize you or anything.

OL isn't a really sexy position. We've tried sexy too many times in the past and it didn't pan out.

Meat and potatoes will get me excited this year.
