How many rushing yards will they net against Dallas?

I'm hoping for solid open-field tackling for all four quarters. If they are chewing up yards, so be it. Just as long as we get them on the ground before crossing the goal line.

Nothing else should matter...stop the td at all cost. Are offense should be able to cover the cost of field goals.

We might bend a little but we won't break...

I'd trust Wilcox to mitigate VD. Davis is great, but he hears footsteps of Safety's that can really deliver the mail. JJ has knockout power and he might make Vernon re-live the recurring Cam Chancellor nightmare come Sunday afternoon.

I would love to see someone on the defense make a signature hit (nothing dirty) on defense in this game...get the fire going....someone needs to step up and send a message...

...IMO, I think if our defense can force more 3&outs than our offense has in the game, it might be a good recipe for a victory (as long as it isn't something like a 2:1 ratio)

I wouldn't mind seeing a dirty hit or two, to be completely honest. Fear can be a big factor in games.

SF and that red option style offense scares me after seeing what the seahawks did to the Packers. Our guys on defense are going to have to tackle better. Speaking of which we play the seahawks this year and of course at Seattle like always. Lets hope our defense is firing on all cylinders or our offense can score some big points. Seattle defense fly's around and swarms to the ball. Hope we have a swaming defense (didn't see it in preseason). Seahawks OC just always caught the packers in a bad defense lol.

The guy who can make that hit is JJ Wilcox. He was smacking guys around in preseason. Wasn't church a big hitter in college? I haven't notice to many big hits from him in the nfl. I think i seen more from the little I saw JJ than I seen from church since he came in the league. The thing about JJ though is he has to wrap up. I been seeing alot of shoulder tackling in preseason.

I think the main focus for the Niners will be to keep the Cowboys' offense off the field.

I think ball control will be their goal.

Kapernick scrambling around and taking off is the major concern here. Gore is a solid player but I expect Miranelli to stack the box to limit his yardage.

Isn't this defense supposed to funnel plays to the inside?
If they do, and contain Kap, and have some success against the running game, as I don't expect them to completely shut it down. Then that is their chance to make a few big defensive plays. If Tony & Co. can score, and score about everytime they have possession, then things could work out well.

Yes, in the true Tampa-2 with the CBs playing zone; however, if they play a lot of man as Marineilli has indicated, then that runs the CBs off of outside contain. I'm not sure how they scheme to contain that while the CBs are playing man. They could play man-under which would help, but I don't know if they're going to do that.

I could be wrong but I bet Carter will play QB spy in this one, he's got the speed to contain him.

I fear our run defense is going to get destroyed, bro's.

However, we'll get a stop here and there and once we build a 2 score lead they'll start throwing the ball, so it won't look *as bad* as it could possibly.

I think they'll rush for ~150, but we pull out the win.

They will burn Dallas through the air, too. They're not a one dimensional offense. Takeaways are the key. Without those, it'll be a one sided game.

I'm calling it now this defense will cause 3 turnovers and score 1 TD. Special teams will score another TD. Dez, Murray, Dunbar and Escobar will score TDs

People are forgetting their OL hadn't played together yet, Boone out all training camp and Martin is starting. OL needs chemistry and I think it will throw their offensive rhythm off

Lucky for them they get the worst DL they will see all year, talent wise from top to bottom. Romo & co. needs to have the mindset that they have to put up 30 to win each an every week.

I disagree with that statement. We have no idea if we have the worst or best DL in the league yet. Only seen 2 DL so far this season and that was Seattle and GB

Maybe they will surprise me. But on paper, talent wise, it's a weak front 7.

Also consider all the dead money we have tied into ware and Ratliff to play for other teams.
