Gosselin: What Cowboys must do in NFL Draft

The Cowboys are in their wheelhouse Thursday night.

The first round of the NFL draft.

No team has worked the first round better than the Cowboys in the last five years. They have drafted five players, including four who became walk-in starters. The Cowboys traded up for Dez Bryant, traded down for Travis Frederick and held their ground to claim Tyron Smith and Zack Martin. Those four have all been to the Pro Bowl.

Morris Claiborne, the only non-Pro Bowl first rounder in the last five drafts, has been a disappointment. The Cowboys traded into the top 10 for him, and although he lacks the interceptions, he still has started 25 games for the Cowboys in his three seasons. So he hasn’t been a complete wash.

Those who do really show their ignorance to what the Cowboys do/want and also show how little they are plugged in to Goldman and what he can do.

I would not be surprised to see him go in the second round. Just not nearly as impressive as people think. He does not make enough plays to be considered a viable first round choice.
