The iPhone 5 will come out in June. It's unlikely it will have 4G.

From what I've been reading and it does vary depending on the source but most seem to think the Verizon iphone 5 will be 4g.

Sales on the Verizon iphone 4 haven't been all that great because most people don't want to lock themselves in on a 24 month contract with a device that will be obsolete in a few months.

If the Verizon iphone 5 isn't going to be 4g it wouldn't be worth waiting for and people do seem to be anticipating it between June and July.

Question, I just read someones post something on Slashdot that says the iPhone doesn't receive calls if Safari is open. Several people agreed, but considering the source, (bunch of unknown geeks) I wanted to verify it with actual iPhone users.

Is this true? If Safari is open, you can't receive calls?

False...at least for me.

Just tried it at work. Safari was opened to this site and I called my number from a work phone.

It's not up to Verizon what goes into the phone. Verizon's sales numbers have been good, particularly considering how late in the cycle it was. Remember the phone had been out for 8 months when Verizon began selling the iPhone. Sales usually dip around this time of year because everyone know the next one is coming out in a couple months. But from what I've read its extremely unlikely this next version includes 4G. You never know, though.

Congrats. I will stick to my Atrix for now. Does everything I could want and then some.

One thing about if I break my glass is that it is not connected to the screen. Easy and cheap to replace. Although, I have only broken one phone in my life.

Never been the case for me on ATT.

I could see how it is possible on Verizon as they somehow do not have the capability for voice/data simultaneously over 3g. So if you are actively browsing the web and a call comes in, I guess it could go straight to voicemail...

Don't get the appeal of this thing unless you're unfamiliar with other OS's. At least in terms of thinking it's uber cool and awesome. It is easy to use, but where's the awesome? Awesome apps yes but the OS is boring.
