If we beat them in Week 3, don't we get it back?

Then I hope we throw it in the trash afterwards because that's how much it means on this side of the "rivalry".

The only fans I see making a big deal out of it is Cowboys fans, as they seem to believe that the Texans really wanted it. May have been true when Carr was the QB, but definitely not now...not with this current team.
Also, the rivalry with Houston and Dallas has been going on since both cities were founded. It goes on way beyond sports. Still, anytime a Houston and Dallas team faces each other, it's great for the state.

I know it's only preseason, but I hope the Texans stomp the Cowboys.

kmd24;3522978 said:Are you kidding? I lived in Houston, and I have two brothers who live there now, so I see smack from a lot of Houston fans in my Facebook news feed. The common sentiment I saw was something along the lines of this quote from my younger brother, a Texans fan:
I think Texans fans definitely wanted to see the Cowboys lose.

Who does that?
Im sure the Texans were all for the idea. :laugh2: We will game plan Dallas for 2 weeks and show up and throttle them and take the cup away like the Spartans we are.
GuerillaBlack;3522992 said:Please tell me what so bad about that comment? I live in Arlington currently, and my friends were saying the same things (hoping Dallas beats Houston). When it didn't turn out that way, it became "well, it's only the preseason. Who cares!". Obviously Romo and many of the starters did. All you had to do was look at their faces on the sidelines. They wanted to prove the doubters wrong from the other preseason games (much like the Texans wanted to the previous game in New Orleans).

GuerillaBlack;3522974 said:Well you have some short sighted friends then. I lived in Houston (still have a home there), but currently live in Arlington, and you can ask almost any Texans fan on the street, or at the fan sites which team they'd rather beat: Colts in Week 1 or the Cowboys in Week 3, and most would say the Colts. It seems to me only Cowboy fans are still stuck on the old Texans when they strived to beat the Cowboys in the preseason.
Houstonboys13;3523152 said:I live in Houston and I completely disagree. Texan fans would rather beat the Cowboys and many would say, "as long as we beat the Cowboys, it will be a good season" Just listen to the radio during the week leading up to the game and you'll hear many people say this. I can really care less about the Texans, it's the Cowboy envy they have that is so annoying. The true rivals for me are the Eagles, Commanders and Giants. That's the games I get hyped up for, not a game against the Texans. Of course I don't want to lose the game, but I would never consider it a rivlary.
