I love the moves — moving up a spot to secure Downs then turning two 5ths into two 4ths and still grabbing Lawrence is GRADE A navigation and execution!


We still have a 3rd and THREE 4ths. I wonder if they're gonna try and move up into the 2nd or get more in the 3rd. If anything, I think it's more likely they use two of the 4ths for another pick in the 3rd.

Not in my wildest dreams did I think Downs would drop....then be able to trade down and re-coup the picks we lost in the Downs trade....And still get Lawrence.

Day 2 is going to be very interesting....Can we get up higher to get an impact LBer?

I'd give it a B overall. And that's generous. Miami selects a Tackle at 12. Doing what they did to move up ONE SPOT seems questionable. They blinked imo, and it facilitated sending Lemon to the Eagles, a division rival, who now has corrected the problem of Brown being traded. Domino effect to compensate. Meanwhile...you REACH on TRAITS Lawrence and then completely ignore your most glaring problem. Linebacker.

B+ the defensive end is a question mark in my opinion. he was not a dominant player in college and will have to learn a new position in 3-4 OLB. now downs is a great player hopefully he can live up to the player that he has been college.

A-.Injuries are always gonna be a concern for a player like Downs, I just hope it doesn’t change his style of play.
Lawrence has a great motor and had a 4.5 in the 40 at the combine. He’ll be a great addition to our DL.
